Set up the environment
Chapter 2. Set up the environment To implement the solution, you need to install the following JDA applications on a new database:
• JDA Platform (also known as JDA Foundation).
• Supply Chain Planning and Optimization (SCPO), which includes JDA Demand, JDA Fulfillment, and JDA Master Planning.
• JDA Reporting.
After you installing the applications, you can use the installed templates to configure the solution. Two sets of templates are installed:
• XML files that can be imported using the JDA Enterprise Change Management feature to configure the security, user-defined columns, user interfaces, processes, and solution navigation.
• Command/shell scripts, xml files, and SQL files to support the batch processes.
Import configuration using Enterprise Change Management The following XML files are installed to <install_dir>/config/templates/ecm/cpg.
• CW_Instances.xml: Configures the pre-defined compound workspaces.
• FE_Instances.xml: Configures the pre-defined flexible editors’ instances.
• Node_Configuration.xml: Configures the node configuration.
• NodePool.xml: Configures the node pool.
• OptionSets.xml: Configures the Option sets.
• Rich_Workbenches.xml: Configures the .net based workbenches.
• Roles.xml: Configures the roles.
• Searches.xml: Configures the pre-defined searches.
• Thin_Workbenches.xml: Configures java based pages.
• UDC.xml: Configures the UDCs (User Defined Columns).
• navigation-scn.xml: Configures the solution navigation. This file is located under <install_dir>/config/templates/navsets.
Note: You must have appropriate roles to view the default solution navigations.
A script (ECM.bat or ECM.sh) is provided to import the data in the required order and with the necessary parameters. Before running the script:
• Ensure that a credentials.properties file exists in the <install_dir>\config\bin\platform folder. For more information on the contents of this file, see the JDA Platform Installation/Administration Guide.
• If you have used a different schema name than WWFMGR or SCPOMGR for your Foundation and SCPO schemas, you must edit the script to provide the –schemaMapping parameter. For more information on this parameter, see the JDA Platform Installation/Administration Guide.
Set up sample database You can use the sample database to view the properties of the configured user interface instances.
In the <install_dir>\config\templates\sampledata directory, using SQL*Plus, run Demand-ALL.sql and Supply-ALL.sql files as the Oracle system user to set up the sample database for the solution.

Batch configuration The installation also provides a pre-configured batch template, which contains shell or command scripts, batch XML files, and SQL scripts to run the batch. All searches and option sets for the processes included in the Supply Chain Now solution are pre-configured in the XMLs imported in the prior section. Following are the configured Batch Sequence and the associated set of Option Set and Searches. As part of the Enterprise Change Management import, the BatchNode is configured and is referenced in all the XML Files.

Workbench Description
External Factor Manager This page is used to create and manage Lewandowski external factors.
Lifecycle Manager This page is used to create and manage lifecycles.
Seasonality Manager
This page is used to create or manage the seasonality profile for one or more DFUs. DFUs must use the Lewandowski, Holt-Winters, Moving Average, AVS-Graves, or Short Lifecycle algorithm and share a common demand calendar.
Target Manager This page is used to create target profiles that are available for use by multiple DFUs or to assign a new target profile to multiple DFUs.
Classification Manager Viewing Classified DFUs by the HistStream
Demand Workbench
The Demand Workbench is the primary interface for reviewing and modifying forecasts. It allows you to review historical sales and future forecasts for individual DFUs. Various forecast types can be displayed, as well as events, causal factors, and overrides.
Demand Workbench (View Only) Demand Workbench - View Only
Flexible Allocation
This page is used to modify forecast data at any level (higher or lower), and to aggregate or reconcile that data without first defining a mapping between DFUs. Flexible allocation allows you to select a group of DFUs and determine which of the DFUs the higher-level DFU is and which are subordinate to it, regardless of their actual positions in the data hierarchy (if defined) or regardless of predefined DFU mappings.

Workbench Description
Plan Analysis Daily Plan Analysis allows you to review your distribution plans. Some supply chain information is imported from other systems (For example, Distribution: the basics, customer orders, scheduled receipts, vehicle load quantities), while other supply chain information is recalculated by the Calculate Plan process (for example, planned orders, planned arrivals, recommended shipments). Plan Analysis dynamically calculates its information based on this data each time the

• Base Forecast: The quantity of base forecast for the specified period. The data is retrieved from HistFcst:BaseFcst.
• Non Base Forecast: The quantity of all non-base forecasts for the specified period. The data is retrieved from the HistFcst table.
• Total Forecast: The quantity of all base and non-base forecasts for the specified period. The data is retrieved from the HistFcst table.
• Total Abs % Error: The absolute percent difference between the total forecast and the total history for the period. It is calculated as:
(Abs (Total Forecast – Total History)/Total History)*100
• Forecast / History: The quantity of total forecast as compared to total history for the specified period. It is calculated as:
(Total Forecast / Total History)
• Forecast Variation: The percentage variation in the total forecast between the current and previous buckets. It is calculated as:
((Total Forecast for current bucket - Total Forecast for previous bucket)/ Total Forecast for current bucket)*100
Conditional Formatting (Forecast Variation)
Conditional formatting allows you to format number columns based on the conditions or rules applied to these columns. Enter the values for Range 1, 2, and 3. The data in the Forecast Variation measure is categorized in three groups according to these ranges and they are displayed in different colors.
Graph
Select whether to Show or Hide the graph from the drop-down list. The default option is Hide. When Show is selected, the graph is displayed. This graph displays Total Forecast and Total History values against the Date Range selected in the Properties field.
Filters Select whether to Show or Hide the filters from the drop-down list. The default option is Show. When Show is selected, the Filter Report option is displayed:

Filter Report
The drop-down list for the various scope options allows you to further filter your report data. These options include Measure, Demand Unit, Demand Group, and Location. The graph and grid are also populated according to the data at that level. These drop-down lists enable you to quickly view the report information for only a selected grouping of DFUs that are returned from the original DFU search.
Report layout Once you are done with specifying the reports option in the Reports option, the report page is displayed with following projections.
Field name Description
Demand Unit The demand unit associated with the DFU whose forecast performance data is displayed in this report. The data is retrieved from Hist:DmdUnit
Demand Group The demand group associated with the DFU whose forecast performance data is displayed in this report. The data is retrieved from Hist:DmdGroup.
Location The location associated with the DFU whose forecast performance data is displayed in this report. The data is retrieved from Hist:Loc
Forecast Date The date on which forecast is generated. The data is retrieved from HistFcst:FcstDate.
Measures Total History and other measures selected from Properties.
Fulfillment reports This section provides the details of the pre-defined set of reports supported for Fulfillment.
Production, Sales and Inventory Report The production, sales, and inventory (PSI) report is an analysis tool, which provides you with the following information:
• Complete demand-supply picture
• Projected Inventory
• Days of supply indicator
The report retrieves the information from the AggSKUProjStatic and SKUProjStatic tables. The information is stored in the table by the Store SKU Projection process. The method of retrieving information from this table is defined as OptionSets.
This report is COGNOS based report.
