 SolidWorks Customer Portal 

 SolidWorks Customer Portal – The portal is the gateway to the entire breadth of SolidWorks Subscription Service. This includes members, resources, including support, upgrades, service packs, forums, archived webcasts, e‐learning, and much more. 

 Accessing the Portal 

 You can login to the SolidWorks Customer Portal at the website below to download 

SolidWorks 2012.  Alternatively you can access the Customer Portal through SolidWorks by 

selecting SolidWorks Resources and then Customer Portal.

You can create a new Customer Portal Account by using the school SolidWorks Serial 

Number. (To locate the School Serial Number, open SolidWorks on a classroom pc, select 

‘Help’ from the Tool Bar and then ‘About Solidworks’) 

Creating an Account 

 The first time you logon you will need to create a new account.  To set up an account you will need an active email address, contact name and your schools ‘SolidWorks Serial Number’. Select Create an Account

Select ‘Customers’ Enter the School's SolidWorks Serial Number.             

   Click Yes

  Enter the SolidWorks Serial Number

Enter Email Address 

Enter Your Name 

Enter a New Password

SolidWorks will send an Email confirming your registration and to validate your Email address. 

           

  

     

Accept the Agreement 

Confirmation 

Click on the link to validate  the Email 

Account Activated

Login to the Customer Portal 

 

After logging in for the first time, close the portal, logout and close your Internet Browser. Login for the second time using www.solidworks.com or the customer portal link in SolidWorks 

 After you login for the second time all these options will be available. Choose the Support Tab and select “Downloads and Updates”.

          

Login with your Email Address and  the Password you used to create the Customer Portal Account 

If you see “padlock icons” click “Register My Products” and enter the SolidWorks school Serial Number 

Select 32 bit or 64 Bit  (Newer Computers 64 bit)

Unzip the file to a location this will start the SolidWorks Installation Manager 

Choose ‘Download only’. This will download all the setup files for SolidWorks 2012. Select Next 

Click ‘Download’Accept Agreement & Continue” and save the SolidWorks  Setup File to your computer.  (The file will be be in Zip Format)

Select ‘Change’ to select a different location if desired 

The setup files can be copied onto a classroom computer for installation or upgrade to Solidworks 2012

 Browse the SolidWorks Customer Portal and check the resources that are available.
