– Social: livelihood - health, education, family life routine; behavioural change.

– Economic: financial impact; incurred cost – across aboard in terms of income expenditure.

•The primary objectives of this research are:

1) To identify the most affected and vulnerable communities due to haze; 2) To analyse the various impacts of haze on the socio economic and sociocultural aspects of the identified communities; 3) To assess the understanding of the public on Air

Pollution Index (API); 4) To assess the psychosocial behaviours of the public in response to haze; and 5) To recommend multidimensional interventions and strategies to address those impacts.

•In order to achieve these objectives, social research techniques which include the combination of both qualitative and quantitative approaches will be employed.

•The research will consider dimensions in:

– Malaysian Quality of Life (MQLI), – Malaysian Well-Being Index (MWBI), and – Social Impact Assessment (SIA) to analyse the

whole scenarios of aspects of community and livelihood affected by haze.
