How do volcanoes affect the land?
• They destroy vegetation with flowing lava and ash that falls from the sky.
• Lava turns into rock creating new land and rocks.
• All things die under the hot lava.
• There is less area to grow plants.

How do hurricanes affect the land?
• The water and wind cause erosion of land or loss of land.
• Strong winds destroy plants and vegetation.
• Too much water can cause soil to be useless for growing crops.
