2.4 Sending & Receiving Email

Incoming email (POP3) is stored on a mailbox on the server.

Outgoing email is sent to a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server.

Tujuan Menulis Essay / Opini… (1/2)

• Melakukan eksplorasi atas respon individu terhadap suatu peristiwa, keadaan ataupun ide dan gagasan tertentu (personal essay). Contoh: tulisan tentang pengalaman pribadi saat menggunakan Internet.

• Mengajak pembaca untuk meyakini opini penulis dan dapat juga untuk meyakinkan pembaca agar melakukan suatu aksi tertentu (persuasive essay). Contoh: tulisan tentang pentingnya Internet.

• Menjelaskan tentang bagaimana melakukan sesuatu hal ataupun menunjukkan bagaimana sesuatu bekerja (how-to essay). Contoh: tulisan tentang bagaimana cara menggunakan Internet untuk proses belajar.

• Mendeskribsikan suatu permasalahan dan menawarkan solusinya (problem-and-solution essay).Contoh: tulisan tentang masalah-masalah yang timbul saat menggunakan Internet untuk belajar dan solusinya.

• Membandingkan dan mengkontraskan dua atau lebih ide, peristiwa, literatur atau hal lainnya (compare-and-contrast essay). Contoh: tulisan tentang keuntungan dan kelebihan belajar menggunakan Internet dibandingkan dengan belajar secara konvensional.

• Menunjukkan tentang bagaimana suatu sebab akan menimbulkan dampak tertentu (cause-and-effect essay). Contoh: tulisan tentang manfaat yang akan dirasakan jika aktif menggunakan Internet untuk belajar.

• Audience Control. Dengan menggunakan teknologi pada web, audience bisa lebih leluasa dan mudah dalam memilih informasi yang dibutuhkan.

• Nonlienarity. Untuk memahami konteks informasi, segmen informasi yang disampaikan tidak selalu harus dikaitkan dengan segmen informasi lainnya

• Duplication. Informasi dapat dengan mudah diduplikasi, sehingga memudahkan dalam proses diseminasi, bahkan melalui berbagai bentuk media lainnya

• Retrievability. Karena dengan dukungan basis data yang memadai maka proses pencarian atas informasi tertentu yang telah lampau dapat dimudahkan

• Quantity. Jumlah informasi yang disampaikan dapat lebih banyak jumlahnya, sebab tidak lagi ada batasan jumlah teks / halaman ataupun durasi on-air

• Flexibility. Penyaji informasi leluasa menyampaikan atau melengkapi pesannya melalui berbagai bentuk, semisal dengan gambar, audio/video, atau multimedia

• Capacity. Jumlah informasi yang dapat disimpan (pengarsipan) menjadi leluasa, karena dengan digitalisasi seakan tak lagi ada keterbatasan pada ruangan (space)

• Permanence. Informasi yang disimpan tidak mudah hilang lantaran media penyimpanannya tak mudah pudar ataupun lapuk dimakan usia

• Interactivity. Umpan-balik atas suatu informasi akan lebih interaktif, sehingga partipasi audience akan semakin berpengaruh dalam kualitas informasi

• Mobile. Dengan menggunakan format teknis yang sedehana, maka formasi dapat disampaikan dimana dan kapan saja melalui piranti bergerak
