Make sure you have a photo History to include – don’t discount your past Websites – naming them and why Twitter link – my thoughts on settings (more about

Twitter later) Customize your Public Profile and turn on “Full View” “Summary” … what to say (while staying consistent

with the “brand”)

LinkedIn Advance Settings

Member Feed Visibility – set this to “everyone” Under personal information, make sure your full

name appears (improves search results) Privacy settings:

– Allow connections to browse yours (give and take in social media)

– Profile views: Turn on “Show my name and headline” … you’re NOT a stalker!

– Profile and Status Updates: Check “yes” to both questions

Tips to Maximize LinkedIn’s Power

Use the LinkedIn Toolbar ! Install from the “Tools” link at bottom of LinkedIn

Set up LinkedIn as one of the homepage tabs that opens in your browser every day!!

Smartphone users … download and install the freeLinkedIn app for your phone

Form new habits: View profiles before meetings Use the power of LinkedIn’s advanced search features

Twitter - Why Should I Care?!

A couple of data points:– 90 million Tweets per day– 150 million users and growing– Twitter Seeing 6 Billion API Calls Per Day, 70K

Per Second It’s a platform to share and demonstrate knowledge It’s an incredible source for information

– More than just news though – consider your clients and prospects

Consider these social media goals:– Increase client (and prospective client) awareness of your

community involvement (without bragging) – Increase community involvement in your events– Increase your knowledge of the behavior & demographics

of your clients/customers – Increase client feedback – Increase client satisfaction through client relations
