• The Social Web is represented by a class of web

sites and applications in which user participation

is the primary driver of value (Gruber, 2008).

• Web 2.0 is a term coined in 1999 by Darcy

DiNucci to describe web sites that use technology

beyond the static pages of earlier web sites.

• Web 2.0 sites allow users to act as prosumers

(producer & consumer)

among them, who are assembled in order to

accumulate and use knowledge primarily by means

of knowledge creation and transfer processes, for

the purpose of creating value” (Seufert, Krogh, &
