Jigsaw’s Digitisation Services!
Jigsaw has been offering digitisation services to corporate and government partners for the last 12 months. Jigsaw’s digitisation service offers a number of commercial and social benefits to corporate and government organisations. Our model enables partners to: • Reduce storage costs associated with paper records; • Increase the cost efficiency of retrieving government files; and • Fulfill their obligations under the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA) and the
Disability Inclusion Act.
4
Our digitisation service involves turning paper documents into digital format, for the purpose of improving the security and accessibility of state records.

Case Study Warringah Council
Jigsaw has been partnering with Warringah Council since October 2014 to digitise property and development application (DA) files dating back to the 1970’s. Warringah identified 800 ‘Type 2’ boxes, of property and DA files to be digitised.

“Working with Jigsaw on the Digitisation Program has been very satisfying for
the Information Management team.
Jigsaw’s work is comparable in cost and quality to any
other company that specialises in the provision of scanning services, with the added benefit of assisting
members of the community who may otherwise find it
difficult to gain employment.”

IMPROVE SECURITY Increased the security of state records and insurance against unforeseen events such as fire.
IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY Increased accessibility of high usage documents, easy access to information such as: • Approval records for
buildings /extension • Approval dates • Any conditions that may apply
to a property. This information is critical to: • Owners / perspective buyers • Planners / other
interested parties.
REDUCE STORAGE For documents with long retention periods, digital storage significantly reduces Warringah Council’s storage footprint and associated costs. Jigsaw facilitates the entire digitisation process with Warringah — from collection to destruction — at our fully accessible work hub in Frenchs Forest.
The digitisation of these records brought numerous benefits for Warringah Council.

Financial Benefits Reduce Costs
In addition to benefits under GIPA, digitisation also gives government bodies a significant opportunity to reduce the cost associated with a large storage footprint. This is particularly relevant to documents with long retention periods, such as property and DA files.
