2. What could happen if you violate the sorority’s documents?

Answer: You could be sanctioned: C&B page 40, Section 1

3. Where can a soror find the sorority’s Standing Rules?

Answer: In all the manuals and memorandums issued from the Corporate Office.

4. How will sorors become familiar with the procedures in every Ritual?

Answer: Chapters must review the Rituals with sorors in advance. “The Rituals are not to be altered either by omission or addition unless that option is provided.” Ritual Manual

5. What must be present for the opening of Boule?

Answer: The Charter must be presented at the first plenary session. C&B, page 2, Sect. 7e

6. Who presents the Charter at Boule?

Answer: The Executive Director presents the Charter to the Supreme Basileus.

7. Can an elected or appointed soror pick and choose what aspects of her duties to perform?

Answer: No. A soror must perform all duties commensurate with her position. Read C&B page 42, Sect 5 and Page 45, Sect.12.

8. What could happen if you fail to comply with the directive of the Regional Director?

Answer: A soror and/or chapter could be sanctioned. C&B Page 40, Sect.1

9. What should you do if you disagree with the directive of the Regional Director?

Answer: You must follow the Appeals Process as outline in the MOSP, Page 47-48 and ask the Regional Director to Reconsider her decision.

10. What happens if no on runs for a particular office or no one in the chapter is qualified to run?

Answer: The Basileus appoints someone and at the first available opportunity, the sororneeds to engage in qualifying activities.

11. Who should be the signers on the chapter bank accounts?

The Basileus and the Tamiouchos/Anti-Tamiochous. (ONLY BONDED OFFICERS)

12. What is the role of the Regional Director?Answer: She supervises the region and addresses problems in the region. C&B Page 11,

Sect. 12

13. Can any chapter or General Member contact the Regional Director?Answer: Yes. Any member in the region can contact the Regional Director for

information and clarity.

14. What kind of vote is used to determine election results in Alpha Kappa Alpha?Answer: Plurality vote is used in Alpha Kappa Alpha. C&B, Page 4, Sect.5

Answer: They are due and payable January 1st. A late fee of 10% of the entire amount is added if postmarked after February 1st. C&B Page 49, Sect.14.

16.What constitutes an active member status?

Answer: Payment of all dues and assessment. C&B Page 27, Sect. 1.

17. What is the fiscal year of Alpha Kappa Alpha?

Answer: January 1st to December 31st. C&B Page 47, Sect.2

18. Can chapters implement policies and procedures that are not in any Alpha Kappa Alpha document but they are helpful to their chapter?

Answer: No. See C&B, Page 5, Sect. 3.

Answer: Elected November and installed at the close of December meeting

20. Where does it say Chapter Bylaws must not conflict with the C&B of Alpha Kappa Alpha?

Answer: Read Constitution and Bylaws, Page 5., Article VII, Sect. 3 and MOSP Page 28, third paragraph; “According to the Constitution, Article VII , Sect.3.”
