My father (William Hall) was secretary to the LCC architects who

designed the Festival Hall. I came to the pre-opening acoustic

testing concert (everyone remembers a pistol being fired!) I

married in 1951 and we came to the wonderful Festival of Britain.

 What a feeling in our country - so full of pride and hope. A great

day out.
