3. APQ8074 DEVELOPMENT KIT
3.1 Introduction
The DragonBoard 8074 provides a quick reference or evaluation platform for Qualcomm’s latest 800
series Snapdragon 8074 processor. This kit is ideal suited for Android / Linux Application
developers, OEMs, Consumer manufacturers, Hardware Component Vendors, Video Surveillance, to
evaluate, optimize, test and deploy applications that can utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series
technology.
3.2 Kit Contents
The DragonBoard 8074 Development Kit includes the following:
o Snapdragon 8074 SOM or main CPU board
o Mini-ITX form-factor carrier board
o 4.3” qHD 540x960 16.7 M LCD
o AC power adapter

The DragonBoard hardware could support multiple configurations:
1) Open Frame Configuration (Default shipped)
2) ITX Case Configuration
3) Portable (Not Available at the moment)
1. Open Frame Configuration
a. This is the default configuration
b. Allows full connectivity to most of all expansions
c. Extends beyond the bounds of the mini-ITX form factor
d. Allows camera / display, buttons, and most of the features supported by platform.
2. Mini ITX Case configuration
a. Used for PC or server configurations
b. Fully enclosed in mini-ITX case

The APQ8074 Snapdragon 800 SOM (System On Module) is a Q7 Rev2.0 form factor. It measures
70x70mm, 230 pin MxM with board to board connector to support other SOC interfaces defined in

The SOM is a Q7 form factor but not fully compliant to Q7 standard due to B2B connectors.
However standard Q7 interface on main Q7 connectors are supported.
