SCF Membership 2019-20
© Small Cell Forum Ltd 2019
Summary statement
• The 2018-19 membership year has been significant for SCF as the industry’s focus finally evolved from development of 5G technology, towards commercialization
• SCF’s new World Summit attracted and engaged the new set of stakeholders who will encompass the 5G Era ecosystem from 2020, resulting in constructive debate on actions needed to move the industry forward
• Outputs and recommendations resulting from this successful event are key to informing our 2019-20 workplan
• The central theme emerging from our conference has become our mission:
• To make mobile infrastructure an accessible resource for industry, enterprise and communities.
• A key component of this, is establishing new channels to market for cellular infrastructure via companies who can partner with MNOs to extend coverage, capacity and new services into verticals and smart communities. Neutral hosts and system integrators are two emerging groups addressing this market with small cell technologies.
• The following slides summarize this year’s achievements and outline the objectives and work items that will meet our mission
• We look forward to your engagement and membership participation in this exciting journey

2018-2019 events
• SCF’s calendar of events in 2018/2019 includes: • member plenaries in Amsterdam, Santa Clara, Atlanta and London • participation, in collaboration with ETNO and GSMA, in an EC consultation on Light
deployment regimen for small area wireless access points
• a packed speaking and interview program at MWC Barcelona
• A highlight of the calendar was Small Cell World Summit in May which SCF took over, programmed and managed at very short notice• The event surpassed all expectations; challenging preconceived notions, feeding open minds
and enabling delegates to return to their day jobs better informed than when they arrived• Not only were the event numbers impressive (2 days, 8 sessions,13 awards, 23 operators,
47 speakers and 450 delegates) but the promptly-delivered post event materials provided a wealth of valuable information across all aspects of deployment from a broad range of stakeholders.

Make mobile infrastructure an accessible resourcefor industry, enterprise and communities
Objectives:
• Facilitate urban network densification through faster, simpler and more effective deployment• Establish neutral hosting where multi-operator service and shared infrastructure are a must• Enable industry verticals by engaging with their existing technology supply chain of system
integrators and service providers• Extend the availability of mobile out to rural and remote communities as well as deep indoors• Ensure technology tools are in place to serve these needs with a healthy and competitive
ecosystem based on openness and interoperability
