Ibn ‘Umar r.a. related that he once went up to Ibn ‘Umar r.a. related that he once went up to

‘‘Abdullah ibn Mughaffal r.a. narrated that the Prophet Abdullah ibn Mughaffal r.a. narrated that the Prophet

A’ishah reported that the Prophet s.a.w. said, “When one

of you goes to relieve oneself, he should clean himself

with three stones.”

(Hadith reported by Ahmad, Nasa’i, Abu Dawud & Daraquthni)


Anas r.a. related that, “When the Messenger of Allah s.a.a.w.

would enter the privy, me together with another boy would

carry the water container and scoop for him. (The afterwards)

the Prophet s.a.a.w. would clean himself with water.”

(Hadith reported by Bukhary & Muslim)


Ibn ‘Abbas r.a. related that the Messenger of Allah s.a.a.w.

passed by two graves and said, “They are being punished.

But they are not being punished for a great matter. One of

them did not clean himself from urine and the other used to

spread slander.”

( Hadith related by the Jama’ah )


Someone asked Salman al-Farisi r.a., “Your Prophet teaches Someone asked Salman al-Farisi r.a., “Your Prophet teaches

Hafsah r.a. reported, “The Messenger of Allah s.a.a.w. Hafsah r.a. reported, “The Messenger of Allah s.a.a.w.

Abu Hurairah r.a. said, “When the Messenger of Allah s.a.a.w.

relieved himself, I used to bring him a container of water made

from animal skin or from copper. He would cleanse himself (with

the water), then rub his hands against the soil.”

(Hadith reported by Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’I, Baihaqy & Ibn Majah)


“When the Messenger of Allah s.a.a.w. urinated, he would

wash and then sprinkle water (over his penis).”

(Hadith reported from al-Hakam ibn Sufyan)


Abu Abbas ibn Sarjis r.a. said, “Whenever the Messenger of

Allah s.a.a.w. enters the toilet, he would wear his shoes.”

(Hadith reported by Baihaqy)


From A’ishah r.a. who said,: “Whenever the Messenger of

Allah s.a.a.w. went to the toilet, he would cover his

head.”

(Hadith reported by Baihaqy)


GHUF-RAA-NAK

“ I seek your forgiveness ( O Allah! ) “


AL-HAM-DULIL-LAA-HIL- LA-DzEE – ADz-HA-BA

’AN-NIL – A-DzA – WA - ’AA – FAA - NI

“ Praise be to Allah, who made the filth leave me and

who has given me health.”

Or, as in another Hadith also from A’ishah r.a.:

The Prophet s.a.a.w. used to recite:


ALLAA-HUM-MA – TwAH- HIR – QOL-BEE – MINAN – NI-

FAAQ – WA – HwA- SwIN – FAR-JEE – MINAL – FA-WAA-HISH

“ O Allah , purify my heart from hypocrisy,

preserve my genitals from it ever committing sins .”

After cleansing organs (ISTINJA’ ) , don’t forget to recite Du’a :


And another is:

“Praise be to Allah, Who relieved (food eaten) out of me that is

harmful, and kept for me (of its nourishment-energy) what benefits.”

AL-HAM-DU-LIL-LAA-HI- LA-DzEE – ADZ - HABA-

‘AN-NEE - MAA – YU’- DzI-NEE – WA –

AB-QA – ‘ALAY-YA – MA – YAN- FA – U-NE

““O CHILDREN of Adam! Indeed, O CHILDREN of Adam! Indeed, We have bestowed We have bestowed

upon you from on highupon you from on high [the knowledge of making] [the knowledge of making]

garments to cover your nakedness garments to cover your nakedness , and , and as a thing as a thing

of beautyof beauty: but the garment of : but the garment of TAQWATAQWA (God- (God-

consciousness) is the best of all. Herein lies a consciousness) is the best of all. Herein lies a

“O children of Adam! Do not allow Satan to seduce you in

the same way as he caused your ancestors to be driven

out of the garden: he deprived them of their garment [of

God-consciousness - TAQWA] in order to make them

aware of their nakedness . Verily, he and his tribe are

lying in wait for you where you cannot perceive them!

Verily, We have placed [all manner of] satanic forces

near unto those who do not [truly] believe;”

(Qur’an: A’raf: 7: 27)

privacy and our shortcomings, whereas he and his kind spy upon privacy and our shortcomings, whereas he and his kind spy upon

us from places which we are unable to see them.us from places which we are unable to see them.

O Allah! Disappoint their hopes towards us, just as You have made O Allah! Disappoint their hopes towards us, just as You have made

them disappointed in hoping to get Your Mercy (Blessings).them disappointed in hoping to get Your Mercy (Blessings).

Make them despair (in attaining their plans) towards us, just as Make them despair (in attaining their plans) towards us, just as

You made them despair from seeking Your Forgiveness.You made them despair from seeking Your Forgiveness.

Keep them away (distance) from us, just as You made them to be Keep them away (distance) from us, just as You made them to be

my strength. I ask You for the good of it and the good

for which it was made, and I seek refuge with You

from the evil of it and the evil for which it was made.”
