POK 1 “Guidance for Routine Handling “
• These anatomy slides should help you focus your attention;
• ? Think what structures are you targeting and locating & why
• ? What are the bony landmarks• ? What will you applicators be• ? Where are your contact points• ? What structures might you stabilize/move

What’s the difference between…
• The Talo – crural ?
• The Tibio – talus ?
• The “true” Ankle joint ?
• What is the primary movement at these joints?
![Page 15: Slides3](https://reader036.vdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062711/55c46499bb61eb51248b4699/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
answer
• Think about the component parts (bone names)• They are essentially all the same joint.• However…• Generally we talk about the ankle in 2 different
functional parts; 1.Talo-crural ( Tibio –talar, True ankle) Plantar and Dorsi flexion.
• 2. Sub-Talar joint. Inversion/ Eversion• The Sub – talar lies distal and inferior to the talo
– crural/ Tibio- Talar/ true ankle.
