COMPLETE TOOL CALIBRATION SCREEN
The Complete Tool Calibration includes the axis, tool height, thickness and curve
calibration procedures. Each procedure can be performed individually from the
Calibration/Diagnostics Screen.
NOTE:NOTE:NOTE:NOTE:NOTE: The only time the "Complete Tool" calibration should be
performed is when a major component, such as the bird, motor, slide or
cutter tool has been replaced. Normally, just running the individual
calibrations to correct an individual problem is sufficient. If some
unforeseen circumstance requires stopping the "Complete Tool"
calibration, it must be restarted and run to completion.
Position the calibration gauge in the chuck with the
notch pointing toward the operator. Be sure the gauge
is positioned firm in the chuck with the notch in the
proper position before releasing the chuck switch.
Press [F3] to begin the calibration procedure. Each calibration will be performed in
sequence ending with the curve calibration procedure.
When the calibration is complete, press [F1] to return to the Calibration/Diagnostics

4. Select the type of plastic lap tool that will be cut in the Lap Tool Calibration
procedure. The type of lap tools displayed in the popup window will vary
depending upon which lap type is selected in the Setup Screen. The screen
shown above is with both lap types selected. The popup window will appear
even if only one lap type is selected in the Setup Screen. The operator has the
option of using either a 7-2, 9-2 or 11-2 lap tool for the lap tool calibration
procedure when using the Q391 type lap tool.
If both lap types (XRL and Q391) are to be processed, the SL2must be
calibrated to both types of lap tools. Therefore, the lap calibration procedure
must be performed twice, once with the XRL lap tool and once with either the
Q391 7-2, or 9-2, or 11-2 lap tool.
The NONE option in the popup window is only there to ensure that the
operator moves the highlight from the NONE option to the desired lap tool.
