In attendance at the walkthrough to offer their support were Senator Ron Young,Delegate Karen Lewis Young, and Alderman Kelly Russell. Top-notch entertainmentwas provided throughout the evening by Jazz Connection, Lee Jones and the CB

Pickers, and Craggy Island (the latter two being members of the Frederick AcousticMusic Enterprise).

From Anthony Owens, FAC Board Member: "I am excited to share the news that aftertwo years of planning and fundraising the first major Public Arts Project in the African-American Community will begin on Tuesday upcoming. The Methodist Church on All

Saints has historically functioned as a center point for worship and as a meetinghouse for decades. Across the street is another building owned by the church, wherethe Thrift Shop is, and that's where the Mural of Hope will be. My company will work

with artist Carl Butler to prep the building, then Carl will take it from there."

Asbury UMC is seeking donations for the mural from community individualsand businesses. Donations can be made payable to "Asbury Mural of Hope"
