TRANSCRIPT
In the process of editing our music video I have learnt many new techniques and different ways of incorporating them into our work. For our music video I have learnt how to base track edit. This was a new skill for me as last years editing for our short opening to a teen movie was completely different.
New skills learnt:
- To import files or audio on to final cut pro
- Using markers to cut to the beat of the song on the time frame, which helps footage to be synched with the music
- Cutting clips to any size an adding them onto the timeline
- Using appropriate effects and adding them on to clips such as transitions or dissolves
- Use strobe lighting effect
- Adding filters
- Playing the music video in slow motion pressing K then L on the keyboard
- Locking footage and audio
This a screen shot of when I
experimented using new effects which
I haven’t used before such as the
strobe effect. In order to achieve what
I wanted in the shot I had to adjust the
level of light and speed
This is an example of when I was looking through some of the basetracks
we had and selecting the right shot I wanted, by using a marker and
dragging the clip onto the timeline.
In the process of editing our music video I have developed the skills I learnt from the lip synch tutorial we had as a group at the start. For example in this screen shot you can see all of the base
tracks on my timeline, which have been cut with the blade in the tool box, to sections my group and I prefer. This is then lined
up with the red marker, every four beats of the song.
