SKILL DEVELOPMENT
EDITING SKILLS IN AS
• Last year in AS my editing skills were little, I knew the basics like cutting, adding transitions and text therefore I didn’t do much of the editing. I tried my best to help but I mostly done the easy parts. I focused more on filming instead of editing which I very much enjoyed.
• When it comes to this year, it a complete other story! My editing skills has MASSIVELY improved for example if my other editing friends need help they would call me… yes that’s right, me! (of course if I don’t know then they’ll run to the technicians)
EDITING JOURNEY
• In the beginning of A2, if you told me I would be the main editor of my group I would of laughed. But that’s right I was the main editor, from only knowing the basic to being the main editor.
• My skills have improved unbelievably, editing a music video to me is much easier than editing a film opening. In the beginning, I told myself “yep, I’m not doing editing” but I am so glad I took the role. I enjoyed every minute of it even the stressful parts. Of course the technicians have a massive role in my editing journey, I learnt a lot from them and wouldn’t of been able to do half the things without constantly running to their room… thank you technicians.
DEVELOPED SKILLS
I have learnt so many new skills I don’t know where to start from, here is some below:• Holding command and the letters K and L slow
down both the footages and audio in the sequences. This really helped mark every single beat in bridge.• Flicker effect – I am really proud of myself as I
created the flicker effect all by myself with the help YouTube.• Widescreen & offset – I know how to create a
widescreen and understand what an offset is.
DEVELOPED SKILLS
• Edit a music video from the beginning stages like marking the beat of the music and footages to the finishing touches. • Create a filter – by adjusting the brightness and
contrast to enhances the colours on the screen • Slow motion & fast forward
Those are just some of them I can go on but you properly get the point; I no longer JUST know the basics of editing.
