ABOUT THE SCHOOL
St. Joseph Technical Academy of Davao City Inc. (or SJ for short) is a SEC-registered non-profit, non-stock corporation engaged in the business of operating and managing a vocational and technical educational institution, providing courses of study in hospitality management. The school is located in the 3rd Floor of Maxima Sia Su Bldg., R. Magsaysay corner Lizada Sts., Davao City. SJ is regulated by the Technical Education & Skills Development Authority (or TESDA) under Republic Act No. 7796. SJ is the only institution in Davao City to offer all nine (9) Hotel & Restaurant TESDA competencies, namely: Bartending, Commercial Cooking, Food & Beverage Services, Housekeeping, Tour Guiding Services, Baking/Pastry Production, Front Office Services, Travel Bartending, Commercial Cooking, Food & Beverage Services, Housekeeping, Tour Guiding Services, Baking/Pastry Production, Front Office Services, Travel Services and Barista, all with NC 2 ratings. SJ envisions itself “to be the most preferred Hospitality Management Technical School” in the City and aims “to provide outstanding & accessible learning experiences” to its enrollees so that they can quickly qualify for jobs here and abroad. We have invested in a modest but complete classroom facilities & kitchen/bedroom/restaurant/bakery laboratory showcases to give our students the best hands-on training. We are located in the heart of the city, so we are accessible to residents from the north & south of the city. St. Joseph Technical Academy of Davao City, on it’s third year of operation has been ranked TOP NINE over 120 TESDA registered schools in Region XI for 2010 .
