Sixth Sense device is a mini-projectorcoupled with a camera and a cell phone-which acts as the computer and your connection tothe Cloud, all the information stored on the web. The current prototype costs around $350.The Sixth Sense prototype is used to implement several applications that have shown theusefulness, viability and flexibility of the system

    Introduction of Sixth Sense Technology

    'Sixth Sense' is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us withdigital information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information thehardware components are coupled in a pendant like mobile wearable device. The Sixth Sense

    prototype is comprised of a pocket projector, a mirror,colored marker and a camera. Thecamera, mirror and projector is connected wirelessly to a blue tooth smart phone device thatcan easily fit into the user's pocket.A software then processes the data that is collected by thecapturing device and produces analysis.The software that is used in sixth sense device is opensource type

    It is a technology which is aimed at interpreting human gestures with the help ofmathematical algorithms. Gesture recognition technique basically focuses on the emotionrecognition from the face and hand gesture recognition. Gender recognition technique enableshumans to interact with computers in a more direct way without using any externalinterfacing devices. It can provide a much better alternative to text user interfaces and

    graphical user interface which requires the need of a keyboard or mouse to interact with thecomputer. Interfaces which solely depends on the gestures requires precise hand posetracking. In the early versions of gesture recognition process special type of hand gloveswhich provide information about hand position orientation and flux of the fingers. In theSixthSense devices colored bands are used for this purpose. Once hand pose has been

    captured the gestures can be recognized using different technique's. Neural networkapproaches or statistical templates are the commonly used techniques used for the recognition

    purposes. This technique have an high accuracy usually showing accuracy of more than 95%.Time dependent neural network will also be used for real time recognition of the gestures

    The sixth sense technology finds a lot of application in the modern world. The sixth sensedevices bridge the gap by bringing the digital world into the real world and in that processallowing the users toiu interact with the information without the help of any machineinterfaces. Prototypes of the sixth sense device have demonstrated viability, usefulness andflexibility of this new technology.     An individual first rests his wrist, and on some devices, the middle of his fingers, on thesensor's supports such that the palm is held centimeters above the device's scanner, whichflashes a near-infrared ray on the palm. Unlike the skin, through which near-infrared light

    passes, deoxygenated hemoglobin in the blood flowing through the veins absorbs near-infrared rays, illuminating the hemoglobin, causing it to be visible to the scanner. Arteriesand capillaries, whose blood contains oxygenated hemoglobin, which does not absorb near-infrared light, are invisible to the sensor. The still image captured by the camera, which

    photographs in the near-infrared range, appears as a black network, reflecting the palm's vein pattern against the lighter background of the palm.

    An individual's palm vein image is converted by algorithms into data points, which is thencompressed, encrypted, and stored by the software and registered along with the other detailsin his profile as a reference for future comparison. Then, each time a person logs in

    attempting to gain access by a palm scan to a particular bank account or secured entryway,etc., the newly captured image is likewise processed and compared to the registered one or tothe bank of stored files for verification, all in a period of seconds. Numbers and positions ofveins and their crossing points are all compared and, depending on verification, the person iseither granted or denied access.

    What happens if the registered palm gets damaged?

    There may be a chance that the palm we had registered may get damaged then we cannot usethis technology, so during the time of registration we take the veins of both the hands so thatif one gets damaged we can access through the second hand. When hand get damaged up tolarge extent we can get veins because deeper into the hand veins are obtained. When weapply this method we can maintain complete privacy .
