Reconciliation Confessions heard: St. Joseph: Sat. 3-3:30 pm or by appointment. Our Lady of the Lakes: Sundays 8-8:15 am; Fridays after 9 am Mass or by appointment.

Marriage Preparation is required at least 6 months prior to the wedding. Call the church as soon as possible after engagement for an appointment.

Anointing of the Sick If you or someone in your family is hospitalized and would like to receive communion or anoint-ing, please call the parish office. Due to patient privacy laws, no one can visit unless the patient or family requests it.

Faith Formation

Totus Tuus Catholic Summer Camp *****There is still time to sign up. Please register as soon as possible******

The dates for this super fun, deeply Catholic summer camp are July 19 through July 24. The camp is open to kids entering 1st through 6th graders during the day and those entering 7th through 12th graders in the evenings. It is put on by energetic and faith-filled college-age Catholics that spend the summer going parish-to-parish running the same camp. These young adults often make an enormous impact on the kids participating, especially the junior and senior high students. Other parishes around the diocese that have held the camp have seen dramatic effects in the camp’s ability to light a fire in the youth for Jesus! Please pick up the registration forms in the communication center by the bathrooms at SJ or in the par-ish offices.

Diocesan Chorale Director Position Opens

After many fruitful years, our beloved Diocesan Chorale director, Kathy Turba, has an-nounced her pending retirement. We will indeed miss her. If you are a choral director and would be interested in working with the best bunch of singers you’d ever care to know, please contact our worship office director (Paul Birch) to express your interest in the posi-tion. A Letter of Intent along with a resume should be sent either to pbirch@catholicdos.org or to 1201 Hughitt Avenue Superior, WI 54880. Paul will respond with a formal application, the official job description and will then get back to you about an interview. We would like to have this position filled before the end of August. Our Diocesan Chorale sings for six regularly scheduled diocesan liturgies per year, with an occasional extra. Besides monthly rehearsals in Ladysmith and those prior to each liturgy, the singers also participate in an annual fall weekend retreat. Recently, in addition to their usual schedule, they have been planning an overseas tour.

Nursing Home Help We are still looking for more volunteers to help out with communion at the three local nursing homes. We are especially in need at the Amery Memory Care. Volunteers go to AMC on Thursdays at 10:30. If you have any interest in helping at any of the nursing homes please call Melissa in the office 715-268-7717.

Holiday Bazaar Barb Anderson has been the chair for St. Joseph’s annual Holiday Bazaar for the last few years and is looking for someone to replace her. Barb is hoping to find someone to shadow her this year so they can take over next year. The Holiday Bazaar is November 14th.

Catholic Services Appeal Each year the Diocese of Superior has a Catholic Services Appeal. All parishes are re-quired to support the appeal and St. Joseph and Our Lady of the Lakes has to pay this amount soon.

This year the assessment for St. Joseph Church is $28,893. So far we have raised $17,870 leaving a balance of $11,023. The assessment for Our Lady of the Lakes is $21,967. So far we have raised $8,230 leaving a balance of $13,737.

Rain or shine! Everyone is invited to celebrate the blessings of summer by attending a lakeside Mass on Sunday, July 26th at 9 am. The Mass will be at Wilkins Resort shoreline on Bone Lake. Come early to anchor your pontoon or boat in the bay or BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR for shore seat-ing. If it is raining the Mass will take place un-der the roof at Wilkins. Wilkin’s Resort has a brunch on Sundays. You must RSVP by July 17th to Sally @ OLL ourlady@lakeland.ws 715-405-2253 if you are planning on having brunch. Brunch is $9.95 for adults and $7.95 for Children to age 12.
