Old Saga• SAP Inside Track grew out of the SDN Day which was a day before
SAP TechEd the premier SAP Technical conference that SAP runs every year
• SDN Day was called Community Day but after deciding that was a little bit hard to sell to managers authorizing time off projects we chose the name “Inside Track” and there is now a proliferation of events being organized by real SAP grass roots people in cities all around the World
This is a community driven event for the SCN members by the members

Computing, Databases, Mobile, Cloud and User Experience
Explained the HANA Effect stating that HANA uses massive power of in-memory computing
HANA is more than a database and has become a platform for SAP
Michal Rey confirms that in India there are more than 130 customers who are using HANA
The other significant highlight in UI front was announcement made open sourcing SAPUI5 as OpenUI5 by Michael Reh
Bernd Leukert came on to the stage and he told that before the Tech-Ed at Las Vegas, SAP had 450+ Suite on HANA Customers but in the last 4-6 weeks, 100 more customers have opted for Suite on HANA

Finally came announcement of Project Ganges connecting CPG Companies right to retail (kirana) stores,12 CPG companies, 3 banks and 8 million kirana stores is what currently is part of the network in India
The core solution is a special POS terminal that will provide payment and inventory / order management capability to the retailers, update the individual store data on SAP hosted cloud that can be used to generate insight into say new launches, promotions, identify product sale trends etc
