Site visit report by Uday Gossain (Asha Munich Member) (Report includes photos of the school/children) contact: [email protected] Visit to Tapovan School –9 th May 2004 I met Anurag – Monika’s husband – employed by Cadence Narandera – employed by R-Systems Kapil – employed by Cadence, and was instrumental in setting up the earlier school which tapovan runs with RMRC. Rajendra - Most of the children introduced themselves with their drawing books. - Book distribution to standard 1 children. - Toffees given to children - Poems recited by children and Narendra – Priya who was totally shy during introduction kept coming up to recite poems. - Area around the school needs to be cleaned – ‘gobar liypai’ (cow dung plastering) initiated – responsibility given to a couple of children – Mohammed the eldest of all would coordinate the activities. Six children volunteered to carry out the task. - Personal hygiene would be looked into. - A dustbin to be provided.
