SITES When a site is provisioned, it will be regitered as a system with the relevant policies attached, based on the chosen site type. Site provisioned are automatically plugged into the governance model.
The ”Full Monty” on Site Governance Sites register as individual systems in governance framework
Recording content from sites
SharePoint Records Management Recording content from sites
• Content / Data is recorded into a Records Center site (Built-in Site Type in SharePoint)
• How a piece of content is recorded is based on it’s Content Type
Content Types Base Content Types
All content in SharePoint is based on a Content Type. This content type is used to define the content itself, and how it will be handled in terms of policies, recording, etc.
Sites work differently… Conclusion: Content must be recorded without the context of a site
So what do I do with the site? Disposal of sites
• Option 1: Kill the site
– Content is… • Deleted
• Recorded
• Moved to another repository
• Option 2: Retire the site
– Move the site to an archive of sites • Live (You may still search the content)
• Dead (Exported to a filedrive)
