Legal Services for Entrepreneurs (LSE), a project of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, provides pro bono legal services to community micro-businesses.
Donna Tubbs has made her grandmother’s
buttery almond toffee for friends and family for
over 40 years. Gavin Escolar’s custom, handmade
jewelry celebrates the diversity of love. Ismael
Diagne introduced the SF Bay Area to the healing
properties of West African herbal teas while
supporting cooperative, fair trade practices in
Senegal. Tina Ferguson-Riffe hires people
who’ve had a hard time finding jobs to cook her
mouth-watering barbecue. Delia Suarez created
a Spanish-language First 5 California daycare
for low-income children in the Bayview District
of San Francisco. Kathleen Hackett is a mom-
trepreneur with delicious and unique popcorn
flavors crafted with love. Antoinette Sanchez
whips up gourmet funnel cakes and hand-spun
cotton candy to bring out the kid in each of us.
These are just a few of the entrepreneurial clients
