Trim each 8-1/2“ square with the Outer Edge Template. Trim each 6-1/2” square with the Quarter Circle Template. 2. When sewing the Drunkard’s Path blocks, lay the outer edge right sides together on top of quarter circle piece, pinning together at center of curve. Pull outer edge corners around and pin to the quarter circle corners. Stitch around curved edge with 1/4” seam easing the fabrics together. Press. An added 1/8 to 1/2 yard is added to all yardages to account for shrinkage, straightening, cutting errors and prints that may require special cutting to get the best results. You should protect your investment in time and fabric by making sample blocks before cutting into your fabric because Exclusively Quilters will take no responsibility for replacing fabrics. Shops who wish to kit this design are responsible for figuring yardage for their kits if they wish to reduce yardages. Make the number of Drunkard’s Path blocks as shown in Step 3.

3. Make the number of Drunkard’s Path blocks as shown:

4. Draw a diagonal line on wrong side of each of the navy diamond print 2-1/2” squares.

5. Place two marked2-1/2” navy diamond print squares on opposite ends of a 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” light apple core piece. Stitch along marked lines. Trim seam allowances to 1/4”. Press triangles out. Make a total of twelve pole blocks.

Assembly:1. Arrange all blocks and 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” navy diamond print pieces in eight rows, referring to Quilt Layout. Sew blocks into rows. Sew rows together to complete quilt center.

2. Stitch seven 2” dark apple core strips together end-to-end. Cut two borders the length of the quilt center (approximately 64-1/2”). Sew to right and left sides of quilt center. Press and trim excess. Cut remaining border in two equal lengths. Sew to top and bottom of quilt center (approximately 57-1/2”).

3. Stitch seven 2-1/2” light blue �oral strips together end-to-end. Cut two borders the length of the quilt (approximately 67-1/2”). Sew to right and left sides of quilt. Press and trim excess. Cut remaining border in two equal lengths. Sew to top and bottom of quilt (approximately 61-1/2”).

4. Stitch seven 2” dark blue �oral strips together end-to-end. Cut two borders the length of the quilt (approximately 71-1/2”). Sew to right and left sides of quilt. Press and trim excess. Cut remaining border in two equal lengths. Sew to top and bottom of quilt (approximately 64-1/2”).

5. Stitch eight 3-1/2” navy diamond print strips together end-to-end. Cut two borders the length of the quilt (approximately 74-1/2”). Sew to right and left sides of quilt. Press and trim excess. Cut remaining border in two equal lengths. Sew to top and bottom of quilt (approximately 70-1/2”).

Finishing:1. Sew the two lengths of backing together along selvage edges creating a two-panel wide backing. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt or tie as desired.

2. Prepare binding from eight 2-1/2" x 42” navy diamond print strips. Sew strips together into one long binding strip. Press strip in half lengthwise.

3. Carefully trim backing and batting even with quilt top.

4. Leaving an 8" tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt through all layers matching all raw edges. Miter corners. Stop approximately 12" from where you started. Lay both loose ends of binding �at along quilt edge. Where these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as your stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding together right sides together. Trim seam to 1/4" and press open. Finish sewing binding to quilt.

5. Turn binding to back of quilt and blind stitch in place.
