AGENDA
June 13, 2019
Dear SINET Community,
Welcome to the 9th Annual SINET Innovation Summit where we connect our nation’s three most powerful epicenters of innovation, finance and Government: Silicon Valley, Wall Street and the Beltway. SINET is a purpose driven community whose mission is to support entrepreneurs and enable global collaboration between the public and private sectors to defeat Cybersecurity threats. SINET connects the ecosystem of the entrepreneur; bringing together innovators with executives from private industry, venture capital, investment banking, system integration, policy, legal, academia and the science communities as well as the Federal Government’s civilian, military and intelligence agencies.
We are excited about today’s list of esteemed speakers who will share their thought leadership and expertise on some of our most pressing Cybersecurity challenges and opportunities. I would like to extend a special thank you to the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate as well as our sponsors and speakers who contributed to making today’s Innovation Summit a success.
SINET encourages the Cyber communities it touches to think of the higher calling of protecting our nation’s critical infrastructures as well as the national security and economic interests in order to preserve our inherent freedoms and way of life. I hope you are able to meet new and interesting friends.
Sincerely,
Robert D. Rodriguez Chairman and Founder SINET

AGENDA
2:20 PM – 3:00 PM
Can Artificial Intelligence Replace Threat Intelligence and How Viable is AI Today?Abstract: Large organizations leverage threat intelligence teams and tools to support various security functions. However, most intelligence providers associate value with data volume – leading to high rates of false positives. Meanwhile, industry trends toward orchestration and integration have provided efficiencies in operations while threat intelligence lags behind due to human analyst bottlenecks. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity has already shown a great deal of promise. This panel explores the unique challenges of applying AI to threat intelligence to include understanding where such technology can be most effective, identifying intelligence workflows that can be overcome by AI, understanding what AI can provide today vs. in the future, and how AI can reduce the need for analyst manpower.

Managing Risk in the Digital Transformation Age – From Employee Culture to the Board, Translating Cyber Security and Risk into an Operational Risk ConversationAbstract: From Employee Culture to the Board, Translating Cyber Security and Risk into an Operational Risk Conversation organizations continue to struggle to adopt best practices in security, training, and information sharing across the globe. Adding to this, mainly due to increasing regulation and digital transformation strategies, is higher scrutiny from the board which is creating an increasing dichotomy between how technology and security is portrayed and what board members are seeking and able to understand. This session will discuss newer thinking around enterprise cyber risk management through culture, effective risk quantification, and best practices in reporting cyber risk posture to the non-technical stakeholder.
