Since its launch in 2012, NJTV has put New Jersey’s complex political landscape front and center. With regular segments on local politics, NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams, Reporters Roundtable and On the Record with veteran political correspondent Michael Aron, and special coverage of emerging issues, the citizens of New Jersey have a front row seat to what’s happening across the state. Last month’s announcement that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie would run for the President of the United States started the election season off with a bang. “NJTV and NJTV News will be monitoring Christie’s campaign closely as the presidential race heats up,” says John Servidio, WNET Vice President of Subsidiary Stations and General Manager of NJTV. “The Christie campaign is one of the biggest ongoing stories that NJTV has been involved in. Obviously it has national implications, but for New Jersey, this is a particularly hot issue and we are anticipating increased viewership for the remainder of his run.” Reporters like David Cruz and Michael Aron are well known to the campaign because of NJTV’s previous coverage of the Governor, and Servidio hopes this familiarity helps get pieces of the story that other news outlets can’t. Cruz, who covered Christie’s announcement in New Jersey and subsequent town hall event in New Hampshire, said, “We had set up for a live shot for our 6pm newscast and were fortunate to have the Governor show up at the same time, resulting in a perfectly-timed live (and exclusive) interview; it was something nobody else, from ABC to CNN, had on their airwaves that night.” The presidential race will also put a focus on issues that are critically important to New Jersey, so stay tuned to NJTV to keep up to date on all of the issues that are important to you.

“NJTV and NJTV News will be monitoring Christie’s campaign closely as the presidential race

heats up,” says John Servidio, WNET Vice President of Subsidiary Stations and General Manager of NJTV. “The Christie campaign is one of the biggest ongoing stories that NJTV has been involved in. Obviously it has national implications, but for New Jersey, this is a particularly hot issue and we are anticipating increased viewership for the remainder of his run.”

Reporters like David Cruz and Michael Aron are well known to the campaign because of NJTV’s previous coverage of the Governor, and Servidio hopes this familiarity helps get pieces of the story that other news outlets can’t. Cruz, who covered Christie’s announcement in New Jersey and subsequent town hall event in New Hampshire, said, “We had set up for a live shot for our 6pm newscast and were fortunate to have the

Governor show up at the same time, resulting in a perfectly-timed live (and exclusive) interview; it was something nobody else, from ABC to CNN, had on their airwaves that night.”

The presidential race will also put a focus on issues that are critically important to New Jersey, so stay tuned to NJTV to keep up to date on all of the issues that are important to you. Learn more at njtvnews.org

Chasing Pluto captures New Horizon’s historic flyby of Pluto, the culmination of the spacecraft’s nine-year, three-billion-mile journey to reveal the first-ever detailed images of this icy world at the very edge of our solar system. Nuclear Meltdown Disaster explores the Fukushima nuclear crisis and its ongoing aftermath, told by the brave workers who stayed behind as an earthquake and tsunami crippled the plant.
