    During this riotous summer, we seem to have escaped the worryand trouble by keeping on the move. We part ic ipated in several pro-grans which afforded a very happy combination of Inspi ra t ion fromhearing great preaching, Joy in fellovjship with old friends, in terest in seeing new places and the privilege of representing our workin Ja p a n

    On Sunday, June 25, we spoke in the Jefferson Park and NorthDruid Hills churches in Atlanta, Georgia. Also, while in that area,we visi ted the campus of Atlanta Christian College and the ChristianCity project . I showed my children where I attended sctiuol, andthen spent a lo t of time ta lking about the progress tha t has beenmade s ince I was a s tu de n t th e re

    Prom Atlanta, we went on dotvn to the North American ChristianConvention in Tampa, Florida, Our whole family enjoyed everythingabout the Convention, and we were happy to see many of you there,. Westayed with Grandma Lutton in S t Petersburg during the Conventionand for a few days af terward, Hope and Sylvia and I. also enjoyed abr ie f vis i t with the congregation in Eustis on July 5-^Sunday, July 9, found us in Baton Rooge, Louisiana speakingatthe Calvary Chr i s t i an Church. A couple xrom tha t church, on businesswith the Humble Oil Company, had worshipped with us for some monthsduring t he i r s tay in Japan 3 years ago,- and they:_.ha^LJ: aen--ixlVit:ing-us to v i s i t them. It was our f i r s t t ime In the Evangeline country ,and we enjoyed it very much.

    July 12-15.we held a Sims family reunion in cot tages a t Wautau-ga Lake in eas tern Tennessee, and spoke a t Claxton and Morristown onJu ly 16,A few days a f t e r returning to Cincinnati , we s tar ted N O R T HOn Sunday, July 23, we presented our work a t the Fir s t Christian and Maple Lam churches in Jo l i e t I l l i no i s The morning serv icewas broadcas ted Then on Monday we went to Lake James fo r theSchool of Missions. The program was very w ell planned, the at tendance was f ine and the place brought back memories of our f i r s t v i s i tthere 21 years ago as a r ec ru i t I t was another week of blessingfo r us a l l That week Hope went to the Wakatomika camp in cen t ra lOhio to serve as the camp missionary fo r the Juniors and she alsohad a good exper ienceLois Sylv ia and Danny went back to C in cin n at i w i th Mr- and .

    Mrs. Dan Eynon on Saturday, July 29; and Jennie, Bobby and I wenton from Lake James to Lansing, Michigan. We vis i ted the Eas t Lansingand South Lan sin g Chu rche s o f C h r i s t on Ju ly 30. The nex t morning,we bought some suppl ies and drove 1^0 miles fu r t he r North to theNorthmen s encampment in th e woods up t he re It was a r e a l i n s p ira t ion to hear th e s in gin g o f 1000 men and boys in the big t en t therein the piney wilderness ; and the boys and I had a genuine good t imecamping. We a re n o t very used to t h i s outdoor l i f e bu t through thekindness of the Art Katt family in Cincinnat i who loaned us the.t en t s leeping bags , oookstove, and other equipment, we had a wond e r f u l t ime t oge the rOn August 5 the day a f t e r r e tu rn ing from the Northmen s meet

Our b e s t a ud i en ce was in a v e r y t y p i c a l slum s t r e e t where some o f th e l i s t e n e r swer e o b s e r v e d c a r r y i n g p i s t o l s and k n i v e s and b u r n e d o u t o a r s fromth e r e c e n t r i o t s st ll stood by th e c u r b s , b u t t h ey l i st en e d q u ie tlya s th e g i r l s sang and I t o l d t h e s t o r y o f th e p r o d i g a l s o n .
