Silver Sunday Week 1 – 7 October
with Silver Sunday activities for the housebound included
Silver Sunday is on 1 October this year and there will be some exciting events happening to mark the day so please do join in.Events and activities will be located across the borough and are open to any residents aged 65+ who can be accompanied by a family member or carer too. It is an ideal opportunity to meet people and try new things. Some events in Westminster are also open to residents of Kensington and Chelsea. The celebrations will also introduce you to what is on offer throughout the year.
All activities are free of charge unless otherwise specified. The dates and times are listed together with booking details. Please note that some events need to be booked in advance. You are welcome to attend as many events as you wish.
So find an event, date and time that suits and come and join in the fun and if you prefer bring a family member or carer with you.
Keep this brochure as a handy contact guide if you are interested in activities but cannot make the Silver Sunday dates this year.

Anchor Housing is England’s largest not-for-profit housing association, providing housing, care and support to people over 55 years old. They are hosting a practical workshop on how to prepare and plant up a container for spring on Sunday 1 October at Sybil Thorndike House, one of their housing schemes located in Earl’s Court

The Open Age Second Half Centre, located in the NHS St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing on Exmoor Street W10 is open every Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:00pm. The mission is to get our ageing population together doing things they enjoy in a dedicated space: bridging the digital divide, learning new skills to get back to work, rediscovering the pleasures of old hobbies and finding new ones, exercising, and feeling involved through volunteering, mentoring and teaching. Westminster Cycling Campaign is a local group which is part of the London Cycling Campaign. They are offering a leisurely paced cycle ride from the Albert Memorial to Bishop’s Park in Fulham on Sunday 1 October which will take around 2.5 hours with refreshments provided in the park. The route outward will go via Brompton Cemetery and the north bank Thames Path and back via Putney Bridge, south bank Thames Path, Wandsworth Park and Battersea Bridge.
