How to and

generate

ideas

Shubham Goswami(Jadavpur University)

Sometimes apparently easy things get very difficult

Thinking out of the box is one such instance

How to get out?Where to go? How to come back in?

Learn from Giovanni Corrazza

WHYshould we go outside the box?

when we are so safe inside?

We all have access to the same amount of knowledge

It is the application that matters

So venturing out of the box is a

NECESSITY

WHICHbox are we talking about?

It’s a boundary within our mind

The little ant-hill we need to get out of……

HOWdo we get out of this box?

apparent reality not apparent

We need Divergent Information to step out of the box

Now we are outside

WHERE to go once we are outside?

We have no preset direction

Find a breakthrough by Long Thinking

Be open to alternatives

There is no right or wrong

WHATis the value of your new idea?

Does your idea match your initial drive ?

Does it solve a problem different from yours ?

WHENcan we think outside the box?

You can do it if your work environment is open to divergent information

EXPERIMENT

Think of new ideas for

conferences

Convergent informationWe need1)great speakers2)great theme3)fast transitions4)grand setting

Divergent information

think of a TED talk in …….

A football stadium

What !!!

What if it’s full?

Ted Talks at half time of football matches !!

Try some more

For instance,

a co-operative TED-talk

Exchanging speakers and speeches can do away with

Go on
