Career Guidance Cell

To mark Yuva Diwas on 12 January, the tradition of organising a Samuhik Surya Namaskar was continued this year as well. The invited guests on the occasion were Ms. Ashwini Ghawat and Mr. Pankaj Gupta, who demonstrated the asanas of Surya Namaskar and Pranayam. The staff members participated actively in performing the asanas of Surya Namaskar.

The Career Guidance Cell of the college, under the aegis of IQAC, organized ‘’Lakshaya: Launching Your Career”, a seminar on career guidance on 16/02/2018. About 225 students of all streams participated in it. Col.[retd.] Nikhil Diwanji, Director, Niks Academy Indore, was the chief guest and speaker in the first session on Careers in Defense Services. The second session was based on Interview Skills, conducted by Dr. Piyush Khare from Batchmasters Software Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Prashant Singh Rathore from Pinnacle, Indore guided students regarding Careers in the Government Sectors. There were two subject-specific sessions, one for IT students conducted by Mr. Sunil Dixit from JetKing, Indore, and the other on Careers in Embryology by Mr. Virendra Shah from Shah Laboratories for Biology background students. Dr. Kiran Dixit, Principal, delivered the welcome address. Convener Dr. Nandini Phanse gave a brief outline of the seminar. Dr. Deepa Vanjani, organizing secretary, conducted the event.

This year two cadets from our college, Cdt. Rupali Gurjar & Cdt. Pramod Bhandari, participated in the prestigious Republic Day Parade camp (RDC), the largest and most important parade marking the Republic Day celebrations in India. The parade showcases India's defense capability and its cultural and social heritage. Their troop also won the IGC trophy for MP & CG Directorate.

Autonomous Girls P.G. College, Sagar was external examiner. The department displayed charts on “Plants of medicinal uses” and “Plant science in mythology” in the Knowledge Gallery in February. Dr. V. NSS Unit About 35 students of the NSS Unit of the college participated in a week - long camp at Simrol from 27/02/2018 to 5/03/2018. The camp leader was Harsh Singh of B.Sc. VI semester. The students were actively involved in community service during the camp. In the government organized ‘Ánoobhooti’ camp in Bagli village from 15/03/2018 to 18/03/2018 in which 13 students of the Unit participated. PANORAMA, an exhibition of informative posters displayed by all departments in the Knowledge Gallery from time to time was arranged in the college on the occasion of Science Day 28/02/2018. Each department submitted two posters for display in the exhibition. Convener of Knowledge Gallery Dr. Deepa Vanjani & Co-convener Ms. Reetika Shah were incharge of the activity. Ms. Kusum Joshi & Dr. Poonam Nagar of English department contributed in arranging the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Kiran Dixit. Heads of departments and staff members were also present. The exhibition was viewed by staff and students.

Panorama: Knowledge Gallery Exhibition

The annual function ‘Kalanjali 2018’ was organized in two phases. From 23 January 2018 to 25 January 2018 activities were such as quiz, rangoli, mehandi, salad- making, tattoo-making, fun-N-food and antakshari were held in the college. The music and dance functions were held on 8 and 9 February 2018. Students participated enthusiastically in the activities and showcased their talent. Dr. Rishina Natu was the Cultural Coordinator.

A banner to create awareness against spitting in the open was displayed in both the college buildings in January 2018. The purpose of the banner is to deter people from dirtying surroundings and spreading diseases by spitting in the open. On Earth Day (24 March 2018), a pamphlet with the message of saving energy and the Earth, was displayed in the college, and circulated to all departments as well.
