BISLERI – Pallet Usage and OperationsBisleri uses wooden pallets and plywoods to stack 20 ltr water bottles that are distributed to various customers across the globe.

Around 36 nos of 20 ltr water bottles are stacked on 1 wooden pallet & 2 plywoods in 3 layers with each layer consisting of 12 bottles (4 x 3).

Issues and drawbacks of the above mentioned methodology

• Wooden pallets are in constant touch with water and hence they become more brittle and tend to break quickly.• The plywoods used to stack the 2nd and 3rd layers are very thin and have very minimal life time and hence need to be replaced very often.• The entire stack is exposed on either sides and hence more vulnerable to falling of bottles and breakages.• The plywoods on many occasions seem to be unstable and hence leads to bottle breakages.• The storage (i.e.) racking of the stacks in the storage area and carefully removing them from there using forklifts for loading on trucks is also very difficult and prone to breakages.
