From The DRR’s Desk

Dear all,

January has been an eventful month for our district. I want to acknowledge all the

clubs who have been religiously participating in the Polio rallies and Polio ravivar

camps to eradicate this dreadful disease from the planet which is on the verge of

extinction. I also want to acknowledge all the clubs who are spreading awareness on

Blood donation and organizing blood donation camps regularly in past few months.

Clubs like SGGSCC , Delhi North and ASET who worked selflessly to generate

funds for the underprivileged to improve their quality of life with education and

basic needs , deserves special acknowledgement. Republic day celebration with the

underprivileged section of the society shows the love and concern of the rotaractors

for the people of India.

ROTASIA was another event where 22 rotaractors from District 3010 participated in

Goa .More than 1000 rotaractors from various districts from south asia were present.

Even though things were not ideal , positivity and courage of rotaractors made it an

extraordinary experience. Being positive and fighting against the odds is what we all

learnt and enjoyed the event. We also got to interact with rotaractors from other

district and shared our experiences and projects with them. We got to learn new

ways of working from them and would try to implement those in our district as well.

We now are looking forward to go to the next ROTAISA 2011-12 in Nepal.

Communication is the basis of growth in any organization. No communication – No

growth. We have been trying to work on communication from past few months,

however few clubs are not responding. I would like to urge to all the clubs in the

district to be in communication with the district and other fellow clubs regularly.

This will not only give access to learning but also opportunity to work together in

future.

I wish you all , All the very best and keep up this good work.

Best Regards

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary. Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

DONATE EYES AFTER LIFE WALKATHON Run for Vision Foundation is a not for profit organization, a grass root NGO dedicated to eradicate curable blindness across the country. In the last seven

years, we have been successfully operating eight rural vision centers around Gurgaon (Tauru, Rewari, Bhiwadi, Jacobpura, Nuh, Farooqnagar,

Jhajjar and Pataudi) and have been able to benefit more than 1 Lakh people with eye care medical services. We also have an eye bank and cornea

transplant units to provide free of cost treatment under the name of ‘Y.P. Mahindru Niramaya Eye bank and Cornea Transplant Center’.In order to accomplish

this goal the foundation organizes marathons, walkathons and events to create awareness about curable blindness to establish a pan India network of eye

banks and cornea transplant units. The foundation has already helped to establish North India’s first and biggest eye bank and cornea transplant unit in

Gurgaon (Haryana) and restored eyesight to hundreds of underprivileged people. As part of our prime objective dedicated towards eradication of blindness,

we are organizing a Walk-a-thon on February 27, 2011 at Leisure Valley, Gurgaon, 7 a.m to 10 a.m. The Walk-a-thon will have over 8000 participants

including students from colleges and schools, celebrities, sports personalities, corporate houses etc. to support this endeavor.

We shall be obliged if you all join hands with this noble drive which will create awareness to eradicate blindness, by your presence in the Walkathon.
