Shout Out from Williams High Dave Grant, Football Coach

I am proud to announce that Harrison Gee has been selected to play in the Semper-Fidelis All American Bowl supported by the United States Marine Corps! The game will be played on January 3rd in Carson California. It

will be a nationally televised game played at the Stub Hub Stadium.

This is an extremely huge honor and we are certainly proud of Harrison and this achievement. Harrison will become the first player in the history of our school to be chosen for an All-Star game of this magnitude.

The Marines arrived last Friday to present Harrison with his game jersey in the gym filled with cheering Bulldogs!

Shout Out to Grove Park Elementary Shadonna Gunn, Principal We are excited to announce that Ms. Stephanie Januzys, kindergarten teacher at Grove Park Elementary, has been awarded a USTEP grant! USTEP stands for University School Teacher Education Partnership—a grant program from colleges/ universities to support local educators. Ms. Januzys' project proposal is to train and assist educators in implementing and effectively using embedded instruction and system of prompts in the focus area of math. The USTEP grant will secure 5-6 swivls (a round device that rotates within the room to record) to be used as a coaching tool for teachers. The project also supports professional development on the specific strategies that can be used to support students in the regular classroom setting. In addition to the swivl devices, mini-ipads will be used to review videos and administration and coaches will be able to observe and communicate through blue-tooth devices with the teacher remotely! Thank you Ms. Januzys and UNC-G for bringing this innovative technology to our GPE learning community!
