N estled in a cozy nook just minutes from the Jersey Shore is a place that Smithsonian Magazine named one of the best small towns in America. Each day

our sidewalks come alive and offer an experience that is as unique as our town itself. Frequently called the SoHo of New Jersey, we have some of the most sought-after and diverse retail, entertainment, and dining options on the east coast and so much more.

ShopWhether looking for the latest fashion, antiquing, or gal-lery hopping, you’ll discover an array of boutiques and shops to surprise and delight you. You will easily find the earrings your girlfriend can’t, the dress to make a wedding spectacular, the perfect comestible for your dinner party, and countless treasures that make Red Bank a true desti-nation for the finders of the unique.

DineOur restaurants tickle the taste buds with savory and sweet cuisines. From a quick bite, to a business lunch, to an exquisitely prepared artisan meal, you’ll find it here. Coffee houses, dessert shops, delis and the most superb casual and fine dining options make Red Bank a true din-ing mecca that couldn’t possibly be conquered in just one trip.

ExploreYour adventure begins the moment you step onto our sidewalks. National acts and local productions light up the stages of the renowned Count Basie and Two River theaters, and live music fills our lounges and nightclubs. Take in the best independent movies at our arts cinema; play the night away at a pool table, arcade game, or with a hands-on craft; pamper yourself at world-class spas and salons; or take a stroll along the scenic Navesink River. Enjoy spectacular signature events including the Wedding Walk, Galleria Farmer’s Market, Sidewalk Sale, and Guin-ness Oyster Festival. End your day on a soft pillow at our historic boutique hotels.

We invite you to escape for the day, the night, or the weekend in our cool little town.

A s 2014 comes to a close, the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank is enjoying the success of the last 12 months, and looking forward to 2015 and beyond.

Things kick into full gear just after Thanksgiving, when a capella favorites Straight No Chaser return to Red Bank on Saturday, Nov. 29. In December, the Count Basie Theatre will proudly host comedian Dennis Miller (Dec. 4), a sold-out show with country star Martina McBride (Dec. 5), the 8th annual Frank Sinatra Birthday Bash (Dec. 12) and the 7th annual HOPE Concert with Bobby Bandiera and Friends (Dec. 22).

In January, the Basie will battle the cold with red-hot events like the Sing-A-Long screening of The Wizard Of Oz (Jan. 3), comedian Jim Gaf-figan (Jan. 9), PBS Kids’ favorites The Wild Kratts (Jan. 10), Dancing With The Stars – Live! (Jan. 11), Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam (Jan. 15), the annual Elvis Birthday Bash (Jan. 16), plus the January 17th debut of the No Shush! Matinee, a collaboration between the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Count Basie Theatre. No Shush! provides children a unique opportunity to experience classical music without needing to sit still or keep quiet. Pre-show arts and crafts and an “Instrument Petting Zoo” kick off the day at 3 p.m., followed by a performance that includes selections from ‘Peter And The Wolf’ and more.

Visit countbasietheatre.org, call 732-842-9000 or visit the Count Basie Theatre box office,

located onsite at 99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank, for tickets.

T he Silberstein family has been creating beautiful home interiors for more than 95 years. The business began in 1920 when Michael and Malvina Silberstein opened their upholstery shop in downtown Red

Bank. In 1929, their son, David Silberstein, came to work at the upholstery

shop at the age of 12. He worked part time, ripping furniture and sew-ing slip covers. Following U.S. Navy service during World War II, he returned to the business, along with his brother-in-law Harry Fried-man. The two men learned from Michael. In 1965 when Michael retired, Dave and Harry ran the business until his son, Howard and his wife Mindy became the owner and manager of the business at its new location in Shrewsbury.

David and his wife Esther continued to run the business until their recent retirement. There is no break in continuity of family, however, because their son Howard, with his wife Mindy, now run the business together.

Today’s third generation is steeped in the tradition of creating beautiful homes for third-generation customers. This is one of the wonderful things about multi-generational businesses and the multi-generational loyalty of their clients.

Winters, the finest in luxury outerwear including furs, shearling, fur scarves, gloves and handbags.

W inters Furs in Red Bank specializes in superior quality fur and luxury garments and services, including restyl-ing, repairs, and storage. Personal customer service is the

first priority of new proprietors Christine and Robert Schultz, also owners of Schultz Furrier, a fourth generation family-owned business in Millburn.

Winters Furs under the Schultz family is the same Winters Furs it was under Jason Simon, who built a stellar rep-utation for the fur-rier. “We don’t want to change the n a m e , t h e products, the service, and definitely not the staff,” says Christine. “Some members of the W i n t e r s t e a m have been here for more than twenty years. They’re fabu-lous,” Christine adds. “They’re part of what makes Winters the much-loved furrier that it has been f o r s o m a n y years.”

W i n t e r s F u r s and Schultz Furrier both offer everything from luxury fur outerwear to fur-lined gar-ments and accessories, along with beautiful sweater lines, hand-bags, and other specialty items. “The fashion of fur is always changing,” says Christine. “More casual sheared and reversible items are very popular this year, as are vests and jackets. We’re happy to be able to showcase gorgeous up-to-the-minute looks, as well as offer restyling work, repair, and storage.”

Christine and Robert, as well as their sons Ashley and Carter, are happy to be part of the Red Bank community. “We love Red Bank, and are thrilled to be part of such a vibrant community through our connection to Winters Furs. Having both Schultz Furrier in Millburn and Winters Furs in Red Bank really enables us to serve a much wider community, and to bring the continuity of the line of the Schultz family of furriers to a new clientele. As the temperature begins to drop, we hope our Red Bank com-munity will come in and find something beautiful to keep them warm this winter!”

B etter Housekeeping Shop has been serving the Red Bank area for over 75 years. Offering a wide

selection of brand named appliances at competitive prices, coupled with a stellar sales and service team, is the secret to this successful family busi-ness.

We know that area customers have a wide variety of buying options, including the internet or traveling to a ‘big box’ store. But once people experience what it’s like to shop in our store, rely on our experienced and highly trained personnel, and know they are getting the best prices in New Jersey on appliances, they trust us — and realize that there’s no need to shop anywhere else. We belong to the nation’s largest independent appliance store buying cooperative, so our customers know that they receive the best pricing. What differentiates us is our exper-tise and service.

According to owner Michael Belforti, “Customers want to know that they are purchasing the “right” appliance. They also know that they can’t get the same personal advice and expertise from the internet or at many big box type retailers. This is where our expertise and training come in, and it makes a huge difference to our customers. Our commitment to the highest level of customer service is what has remained the same all of these years.”

Better Housekeeping Shop provides every major brand of home appli-ance, we service everything we sell, and we’ve been a family run business for over 75 years.

A lways passionate about cars, Peter Soviero started Mayo Auto Service when he was 19 years old, and the shop is celebrating its 38th anniver-sary this month.

By always living up to the motto of “Your Dealer Alternative,” Pete has grown Mayo Auto Service from a small, two-man operation to a thriving busi-ness with 12 employees. The Mayo team delivers the same service one would find at a dealer, but at a fraction of the price. Further, they not only repair cars to dealer standards but they also educate customers, something most repair shops don’t do. “We think it’s important for people to understand the mechan-ics of how their car works and also to know how much repairs should cost. By educating our customers on the importance of their vehicles’ “preventative maintenance,” they can minimize break downs and keep themselves and their families safe,” says Soviero.

Mayo Auto Service prides itself on being able to do everything dealers can do but for less money. “Many people think that because they have a high end car like a Mercedes, BMW, or a Range Rover that they need to go to the dealer for everything. The only reason you’d have to go to a dealer is if you have a manufacturer warranty issue. There’s no need to go back to the dealer for your scheduled maintenance services even while under the new car war-ranty.”

In addition to having all the latest technology and diagnostic equipment to test and repair high-tech computers and any issues in the most expensive cars, Mayo Auto Service also works on a wide variety of makes and models including domestic and foreign, SUV’s, light trucks, and vans.

Mayo is determined to debunk many of the myths surrounding auto repair shops. “We have a beautiful waiting room — we don’t have a lot of grease and girlie magazines everywhere, which many people associate with auto garages’ waiting rooms. We want all of our customers, especially our female customers to feel comfortable coming here. I’ve had customers walk in and say, “this shop is the cleanest auto repair shop I’ve ever seen.” We’re also launching a live service video chat, the first of its kind with any independent repair shops or dealer service department. Customers will be able to have a live video chat through their computer, smart phone or tablet with a service advisor to check the status of a repair, make an appointment, or just ask a question.

“We really are the Dealer Alternative who has been a part of the commu-nity for 38 years. I’ve lived here my entire life, and I make sure that we always go that extra mile to satisfy our customers, whether it’s online, on the phone, or face to face.”

O ver the past six years, Subaru owners have helped to donate over twenty-five million dollars to various charities with

their choice to purchase or lease a new Subaru during the “Share the Love Event.” The event takes place annually during the holiday season and not only includes incredible deals on any new Subaru, but also an opportunity to act phil-anthropically and contribute to the community.

With every new Subaru that is purchased or leased, Subaru will donate two hundred and fifty dollars to your choice of five national char-ities, and one charity specific to your local Sub-aru dealership. The event will take place once again this holiday season.

World Subaru, located on Shrewsbury Ave. in Shrewsbury/Tinton Falls has chosen “The Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Founda-tion” for their local charity option for those participating in the “Share the Love Event.” The Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foun-dation raises money for alternative therapies and actual treatments for children in desperate need.

The statistics surrounding childhood cancer are startling — one in every three hundred and

thirty children will be diagnosed with a form of cancer by age twenty, and cancer claims the lives of more children annually than any other disease such as asthma, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, and AIDS, all combined. The Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foun-dation is a leader in the forefront of bringing many alternative therapies into clinic which could prolong the lives of children diagnosed with cancer until a cure is funded.

World Subaru General Manager, Joe Wajda, gave his sentiment for the “Share the Love Event” and his reasoning for choosing The Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Founda-tion for World Subaru’s local charity option. “The Share the Love Event is such a powerful opportunity to make a positive change, not only locally, but also on a national level. I’ve always been amazed at the ability to make an impact on the lives of others, whether on a small per-sonal level like being able to offer a Subaru for an affordable price to another member of my community, or on such a larger scale, like taking part in philanthropy that has the poten-tial to do something as meaningful as making strides towards the treatment of children’s

cancer. That’s why I chose Arms Wide Open to be our local charity that we’re offering and supporting. I believe that the combined efforts of many can evolve into something so much larger than we can fathom, something as large as aiding in the fight against children’s cancer, and the fact that I personally can be involved in this, and be an active part of it, is one of the greatest things I can imagine. I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Along with The Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation, those who purchase or lease a new Subaru can choose to have two hun-dred and fifty dollars donated to their choice out of five other national charities including the ASPCA, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals On Wheels Association of America, the National Park Foundation, and Teach for America. It is also possible to split the two hundred and fifty dollar donation amongst any number of the participating charities.

The “Share the Love Event” at World Subaru is not only an opportunity for an incredible deal on any new Subaru, but also the chance to be an active benefactor and philanthropist to your community during the holiday season.

O n Saturday, Nov. 22, come join Guy Johnson and some of the over 100 dealers in “The Best All Round Antique Center in New Jersey” for our 50th anniversary. There will be refreshments and many sales

throughout our two buildings at 195 and 226 West Front St., Red Bank. Feel free to browse the countless antiques, collectibles, sterling, art, jew-elry, lamps, pottery, clocks, art glass, linens, mid-century pieces, and fur-niture. We also offer jewelry repair and design, clock, toy, and doll repair, lamp rewiring, furniture repair, upholstery, and appraisals.

The center was started in 1964 by Nan Johnson with 12 dealers in an old clothing factory. Her idea was to have a “permanent antique show” with no admission charge. She soon expanded to three buildings and 150 dealers. It is probably the oldest antique co-op in the country. Her son Guy came into the business in 1970 when he graduated from high school.

Half a century has passed and although the dealers and customers have come and gone, and tastes and styles have changed, we are still here. We hope you will come and celebrate this triumph. We are open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday, 11-5, Sunday 12-5 BLDG II.
