First and foremost, I honor the Lord for sharing with me a portion of HIS wisdom and

knowledge. I count it a privilege that HE chose me to share with HIS children, words of

correction, instruction, and reproof. This word is a strong word, but God does chastise

those HE loves. He has commanded us in Jude 21-23 ~ Keep yourselves in the love of

God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some

have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of

the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. KJV This book is an example of

verse 23. “Thank you Lord. YOU are the joy of my life and the source of my strength.

Thank you for saving me! I love you!”

INTRODUCTION

Second Timothy Chapter 3 verses 16 and 17 teaches us all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly

furnished unto all good works. This book has been designed for that purpose. There is a lesson to be learned. If the church continues in the way it is going, many souls will be lost. If we continue in the way of complacency and mischief that is going on in the house of God, we will never go to that level God is calling us to. The problem with church folk is, we don’t want to be told when we are wrong. If we are never chastised for our nasty ways toward our fellowman, we will eventually become bitter, and accept it as the norm or "that's just the way I am" attitude. None of us want to go to Hell through the Church. So as you read these pages, accept them as a reprimand from the Lord and not man. Shoo the flies out of your church and out of your life, and be thoroughly furnished unto all good works! God bless you in your reading. Reproof is blame or official reprimand (formal or severe criticism) for a fault. Correction is to chastise, to make right, to conform to a standard. Instruction is to teach. This book is designed to walk you through a self-inventory of your life. It is not an outlet for you or I to bring judgment on the house of God or our fellowman, but to judge ourselves rightly that we might desire to correct every wrong area in our lives, that God may be glorified, man edified, and the Devil horrified. This book has been designed with you, the Christian, in mind. It is a personal message from God to you, to encourage and motivate you in walking out the call that is on your life. You have a desire to avail yourself to Kingdom work. This book will enlighten you on what God expects from you as well as show you how the enemy has been operating in the church to keep you from doing your part in ministry.

This book has been designed for everybody who is a “body” in the house of God. It doesn’t matter how large or how small your church may be. If there is work to be done in your church, then this book is for you. Whether you are busy in ministry, or just warming a pew, this book is for you. For all of you pew sitters, remember that sitting is not a ministry, and if you care about the Kingdom, it should not be an option. We all have gifts and talents that God has so graciously blessed us with for the purpose of Kingdom work. Many are hiding their talents instead of using them for the Lord’s work. As you read this book, I ask that you would give way to fasting and prayer. Seek the Lord as to what those gifts and talents are. Make up in your mind that you will use those gifts and talents to edify the body of Christ. Spend time with your Pastor on a personal level. Find out what God has been speaking to him or her about ministry and the role you can play. I’m sure he or she has your best interest at heart, and can direct you in the way God would have you go. The fields are ripe and ready to be harvested! There are workers needed. The flies have blown on your gifts and talents long enough. Shoo the flies and get busy working. For those of you that are committed to ministry, and submissive to leadership, keep up the good work, and don’t allow spiritual flies to blow on your work. Continue to be a blessing. Set your heart on the ministry and continue in your faithfulness. God will not forget your labor of love. On behalf of your Pastor(s), I would like to say “thank you for all you do. You are greatly appreciated.” This book is also designed for:

Those who do not seem to care about the Kingdom Those who have no desire to work in ministry Those who think Sunday morning service is enough Those who have allowed the flies in the house to stop your progress

After completing this book, my prayer for you is that God will stir in you a strong desire to find your place in ministry and get busy working. You have to make up for lost time. Do not allow flies to continue to intimidate you. Do not allow the spirit of slothfulness to continue to keep you in bondage. There is work to be done in the house of God, but if we continue to leave it up to others to do, we will never fulfill our destiny. Do not continue to fight against the vision and the visionary. Get behind your Pastor and give him or her your total support, and watch what God does in you and through you. Many times our blessing is held up because of our attitude toward our pastors and the church. This book is to hopefully put us back on track. Revelation 3:19 - 22~ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in

my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. KJV A note to the men in the house. I just want to say thank you to all the hard working brothers in God's house. We women can look and learn from you. Men have a tendency to get things done without murmuring and complaining, without biting and fighting each other. Women, on the other hand, can't seem to stop biting and fighting each other. Women, do what you do best, and help your sister be her best. Stop being so judgmental toward one another. The spirit of jealousy has destroyed many good women. Don't let it happen to you. Work together. Do all you do for the Lord! The rest will work itself out. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

A Word Before

There are times when we get side tracked by the workings and ways of the enemy in the house of God. We often find ourselves making decisions that are not pleasing to God. We make decisions that keep us from being faithful to the church and the growth of the church. Decisions that keep us committed to everything except ministry. We say we love God, and we say we love His people, and we say we love the church, and we say we love the Pastor, but our actions say something totally different. We find it so easy to do nothing in ministry; thus remaining pew sitters; never seeking to further advance the Kingdom. Pew sitters are those who have allowed the spirit of intimidation, fear and lack of concern for ministry to hinder their obedience to God and His work. It is easier and safer to not be a part of the church than to be committed. People seem to think commitment is a bad word. When members ignore the pleas of ministry involvement from the pastor, that is a lack of commitment on their parts. “It’s okay for the pastor to be committed, he’s getting paid for it”. And so is everyone else! Pay day is coming, and God will reward us accordingly. This book is not to tickle your ears or your fancy, but to provoke you to get busy working out your salvation, looking forward to your reward that Christ promised you. Make this your last day being a pew sitter. There is a desire to work in ministry, and an even greater desire to be a vital part of the church body, however, it is the trick of Baal-zebub, (lord of the flies) to distract us and discourage us from being an asset to ministry. It is when we don’t put on the whole armor of God, that the enemy play games with our minds that causes us to become a hindrance and a stumbling block to the vision and the

visionary. God has given the Pastor the vision, however, it is up to us as members to help him or her fulfill that vision.

Spiritual diseases caused by flies in the church. Church hoppers Disobedience Slothfulness, laziness Mischief Divisions Murmuring and complaining Disrespect to leadership Lack of spiritual fruit Disregard for the vision Critical Clicks Judgmental Lack of commitment The spirit of Jezebel Schisms (divisions) in the body Nasty attitudes toward leadership and members

These are only a short list of the many spiritual diseases that take root in the body of Christ. It seems that churches are swapping members (or should I say swapping flies on a regular basis). A group comes in and a group goes out. One of the most difficult problems the church has today is the spirit of commitment. The same rule of commitment that applies to the Pastor is the same rule that applies to every member of the church! If you’re not committed, just keep on reading baby! I pray the spirit of commitment overtake you now, in Jesus’ name! God bless you! Keep reading! Keep studying! Keep learning! Find out where you are, and challenge yourself to come up higher! One thing for certain and two for sure, flies are never committed to anything; they seek out a target, they blow on it and they’re gone to the next target! God is seeking commitment from HIS people in this final hour. “Who will go and work for the Master?” If people were as committed to their churches as they are to their jobs and their many pleasures of life, the spirit of commitment would be a fortress, and flies could not gain an entryway into the church. PRAYER: Father, I’m about to embark on a study of spiritual flies. As I read these pages, I ask that you would show me myself and not others. I ask you to cleanse me of all unrighteousness, all slothfulness, and all judgmental tendencies that, I have towards my Pastor and the leadership of my church. I pray that I never sit in judgment concerning the ministry and the workings thereof. I ask that you will open my eyes to see the flies that have crept into the house of God. I ask you now Heavenly Father to create in me the zeal and wisdom to work in the

ministry where you have placed me. I ask you to open my understanding to the gifts and talents that you have so graciously blessed me with that I may get busy and work. I pray for your guidance in helping me understand the vision of the house. I ask you Father to make me a blessing to the vision and the visionary. Bless my Pastor, and enable him/her with my help, and the help of the entire congregation to accomplish that vision. I ask you dear Lord to help me never complain about people that are working in ministry. Father, forgive me for every time I have murmured and complained against my Pastor, and those faithful workers. In the name of Jesus Amen.

Flies In The House!

This book is to help you recognize the different spirits in the church, and how they can destroy ministries. It is not meant to be judgmental, nor is it meant to train a Sin Watch Committee in the house of God. It is, however, a tool to be used to help each individual recognize where you are spiritually. It is designed to help you to move from complacency to working effectively in the church. Why flies? I asked God the same question. The answer is: because we all know how nasty and disgusting flies are. Nobody wants flies blowing on their food or drink. So we should not want flies blowing on our spiritual food either. If we can see the flies in the church, then we will be motivated to do something about it! There is not a human being alive that welcome flies into their homes! So why do we tolerate them in the church!?! The flies represent the different spirits that have infested the church. These flies have done much damage in the church for many years. If we could recognize the flies for who they are and what they stand for, we can eliminate the many diseases that they cause. Flies carry germs that cause such serious diseases as malaria, sleeping sickness, deafness and dysentery. In this book, we will learn the different types of flies and the different types of diseases these flies spread from person to person and church to church. If left untreated, these diseases will eventually lead to death. In this case, these are spiritual flies and spiritual diseases, and the result is spiritual death. Flies cause the perfume to stink! What is the perfume?!!!!?! In this book, the perfume is the reputation of the saints, especially those in leadership. The flies are after your Pastor and your leaders and potential leaders! What do you plan to do about it!?! The flies are after the vision! The flies are after the church! The flies are after the babes in Christ! What are you going to do about it!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?! The flies are out to destroy the works of the Kingdom! What is your plan to stop them!?!?!!!

Flies are small in appearance, but the effect of their blow can be devastating. The duty of the fly is to devour whatever it blows on. A little sin, if left alone, can devour an entire church body. Let us remember who it is that sends these little pests into the house: Beelzebub, who is the prince of flies and the father of all sin. Let’s shoo the flies out of the house, and watch how the house comes together. Shoo the flies out, and get rid of the schisms in the body, a spiritual disease that causes churches to split.

GET READY! GET SET! SHOO!!!!

Page 14: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

14

STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!

How Flies Operate Flies carry germs. When a fly bites, it leaves some of the germs behind. These germs cause serious diseases. In the next few pages, we are going to learn the different diseases that these germs cause. We will study these diseases as pertaining to the spiritual health and state of the church. In Proverbs Chapter 6, we learn some of the diseases of flies. We must deal with these in order to stand before God in righteousness and holiness. It is time to call a solemn assembly. It’s time to reap between the porch and the altar. It’s time to do some serious repenting. This is judgment work people, and if we plan to live before God forever, we better make some serious changes forever! Proverbs 6:16-19 –These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

1. A proud look 2. A lying tongue 3. Hands that shed innocent blood 4. A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations 5. Feet that be swift in running to mischief 6. A false witness that speaketh lies 7. He that soweth discord among brethren.

These are the workings of spiritual flies in the church. Abomination is anything that offends the spiritual, religious, or moral sense of a person and causes extreme disgust, hatred, or loathing. Most of the Hebrew words translated “abomination”, have the meaning of “impure,” “filthy,” and “unclean”- that which is foul smelling and objectionable to a Holy God. (Ecclesiastes 10:1-2) Dead flies cause the perfumers ointment to send forth a foul odor.

Prayer: Father, I commit my life to you now. I ask that you would cleanse me of everything that is in me that is not of you or your nature, or your character. I pray that you would teach me how to operate in the fruit of the spirit that I may be a blessing to my pastor and my church. In Jesus name Amen.

15

The Sand Fly

The sand fly is active at night. It’s job is to suck blood. These flies feed on things that are decaying, and transmit germs that cause serious diseases such as sand fly fever. Sand fly fever disables its victim for days. How many times have someone offended you in church and you didn’t come back for a month of Sundays, or you left the church altogether? You were infected by the sand fly and developed a fever. How many of you have left a church and moved your membership to another church because you were infected by the sand fly? Could it be because your spiritual life was already decaying, and it didn’t take much to discourage you? The sand fly also causes a disease called kala-azar. This disease gets in the skin? We read earlier how Joseph’s brothers developed spiritual kala-azar. We learned how Cain developed spiritual kala-azar. We too sometimes develop spiritual kala-azar. “She just make my skin crawl!” You have sand fly fever! Shoo fly, don’t bother me. Another type of disease caused by the sand fly is the dumdum disease, taken from the dumdum bullet whose point although soft, expands on impact causing a severe wound to its victim. People in church tend to make statements that cause another person to become severely wounded. Although a statement can be minor or soft, it still can cause a severe wound. Some people have left churches because of the sand fly and its diseases. Some have literally found themselves in a state of backsliding because of the wounds they received at the hands of the sand fly. Some even vow never to step foot in another church. Shoo fly, don’t bother me.

Wounded By The Saints Psalm 55

David falls prey to the dumdum disease. We earn in Psalm 55 that it wasn’t the outsiders, but those he went to church with that wounded him. People seem to be able to get along everywhere except in the church. When will we realize that these attacks are not from each other, but from the pits of Hell? Psalm 55:1- Listen to my prayer, O God; don't hide yourself when I cry to you. 2 Hear me, Lord! Listen to me! For I groan and weep beneath my burden of woe. 3 My enemies shout against me and threaten me with death. They surround me with terror and plot to kill me. Their fury and hatred rise to engulf me. 4 My heart is in anguish within me. Stark fear overpowers me. 5 Trembling and horror overwhelm me. 6 Oh, for wings like a dove, to fly away and rest! 7 I would fly to the far-off deserts and stay there. 8 I would flee to some refuge from all this storm.

Page 16: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

16

9 O Lord, make these enemies begin to quarrel among themselves-destroy them with their own violence and strife. 10 Though they patrol their walls night and day against invaders, their real problem is internal-wickedness and dishonesty are entrenched in the heart of the city. 11 There is murder and robbery there, and cheating in the markets and wherever you look. 12 It was not an enemy who taunted me-then I could have borne it; I could have hidden and escaped. 13 But it was you, a man like myself, my companion and my friend. 14 What fellowship we had, what wonderful discussions as we walked together to the Temple of the Lord on holy days. 15 Let death seize them and cut them down in their prime, for there is sin in their homes, and they are polluted to the depths of their souls. 16 But I will call upon the Lord to save me-and he will. 17 I will pray morning, noon, and night, pleading aloud with God; and he will hear and answer. 18 Though the tide of battle runs strongly against me, for so many are fighting me, yet he will rescue me. 19 God himself-God from everlasting ages past-will answer them! For they refuse to fear him or even honor his commands. 20 This friend of mine betrayed me-I who was at peace with him. He broke his promises. 21 His words were oily smooth, but in his heart was war. His words were sweet, but underneath were daggers. 22 Give your burdens to the Lord. He will carry them. He will not permit the godly to slip or fall. 23 He will send my enemies to the pit of destruction. Murderers and liars will not live out half their days. But I am trusting you to save me. TLB (The Living Bible) Prayer: Father, I thank you for the spirit of forgiveness. I ask that you would forgive my trespasses as I forgive those who have trespassed against me. I ask that every part of un-forgiveness in my heart be destroyed now. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. Notes:

THE FRUIT FLY

The fruit fly is one of the most harmful pests. It is known for eating decaying fruit. One type of fruit fly is called the peacock fly because of their habit of strutting on fruit. They are small insects with many colors and beautiful wings. The fruit fly is known to carry the disease cholera. Cholera is the loss of water and salt in the body. The Bible teaches us that we are the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13 ~ "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. NKJV

If we allow the fruit fly to blow on our fruit, we will be infected with spiritual Cholera. We will lose our water (living water), anointing, our witness, our love, and our salt (savor). The savor is that grace that you show toward your fellowman. If you allow the mess of others to mess you up, you will become useless in the Kingdom! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! I’ve got work to do!

If someone in church is getting on your last nerves, and causing you to become hostile, your salt is about to lose it savor, honey! The fruit fly is out to destroy your fruit! So what if the sister is strutting her stuff around your pastor? Don’t let that peacock-fly bother you, girl! You’re larger than that! Your fruit needs to remain! You have work to do. It might just be to win that peacock to the Lord! How can it, if you keep allowing “Oh most gorgeous one” to strut all in your fruit?!!?!!!!!! Let it go! If you be real, she’ll be still! This is what you and the other sisters are saying, “Every time I turn around, she all up in Pastor’s face! Why don’t she go somewhere and sit down?! Calm down sister! Pastor can handle his own! You just pray for your pastor, and God will take care of that fruit fly! That proud peacock strut sister girl has, will eventually become a slow walk. And she’ll be saved for real! Don’t allow the sister’s flesh to mess up your spirit. Shoo fly, don’t bother me. I have to retain my salt! I have to remain useful to the Kingdom!

THE FLESH AND THE SPIRIT ARE AT WAR!

Galatians 5:13-6:1

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. KJV

THE HESSIAN FLY

This fly is after the wheat. Jesus told Peter, “the devil desires to have you to sift you as wheat, but I prayed for you, that your faith will not fail you.” One of the diseases caused by the Hessian fly is known as smut. Smut stunts the growth of the wheat. Sometimes we allow situations and circumstances in the church, on the job, in the home, and in society to stunt our spiritual growth. The smut is the tare that the enemy sows in with the wheat. Of course, it is true that everybody in the church is not saved. We know the story of the wheat and the tare. When we allow people to steal our praise and our joy, this is the tare mixed in with the wheat. But the wheat has to go through a process called winnowing. The chaff has to be separated from the wheat. The dust has to be removed from out of our lives in order that the wheat can become bread. We must learn to grow up and become the bread in the church! The bread (word of God) has to be instilled in us through the preached word, the taught word, and the read word of God! It’s time for us to be the bread for the lost! The “Bread of Life” to the hungry! Somebody is looking for some BREAD! Do you have any in your spirit to share with the hungry?!

In Jeremiah, Chapter 23 verse 28, God is distinguishing the wheat from the chaff. Jeremiah 23:28 ~ "The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?" says the LORD. NKJV There is no comparison! Why would you want to be chaff, when you can be wheat!?! The chaff is on the way to Hell! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! I have some BREAD TO DISTRUBUTE TO THE HUNGRY! Matthew 3:12 ~ His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." NKJV

DESTINATION WHEAT, DESTINATION TARE

Matthew 13:24-30-Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' 28 "He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' 29 "But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn." NKJV

THE BOT FLY

The Bot fly or Warble fly causes severe painful swellings and eventually death in its victim. Many times the church falls victim to the bot fly. Someone will get the idea that they have a greater anointing than the pastor. Then the swellings take place! Just because a few compliments were given, now the head is swollen out of proportion! Brother “wanna-be” will take his few followers and leave the church, go down the street or across town and start another church. Sometimes the bot fly will attack in a different way. Swellings come because of arguments among the members, or arguments in the choir, arguments among the deacon board, or the nurses’ board, or the pastor and the deacons. No matter how the bot fly strikes, his job is to cause severe pain and swelling and eventually spiritual death to the church. Another way the bot fly strikes is through false prophecies. It is dangerous for a person to be led into falsehood by a lying prophet. People will tell you what you want to hear! This is not of God! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! It would behoove all of us to hear the truth at all times! If God did not say it, then don’t you speak it! Some prophets are after money, and will prophesy a lie in order to gain access to your purse!

BE AWARE OF FALESE PROPHETS

I would much rather be told the truth. Lying doesn't accomplish anything good. It would be in the best interest of the one speaking to speak the truth! We know that a liar is an abomination in the eyes of God. So tell the truth, honey! Keep a soul out of HELL, tell the Gospel truth! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! I need to know the truth! 2 Peter 2 ~ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8(for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul

Page 21: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)-- 9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, 11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord. 12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." A LESSON FROM JUDE Jude

1:1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: 2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. 3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" 10 But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. 12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, 15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him." 16 These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction; 23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. 24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever Amen. The Tsetse Fly (TSEHT-SEE)

The tsetse fly causes the disease known as the African sleeping sickness. Some of the symptoms of the tsetse fly are accelerated heartbeat and fever, followed during the next several months by mood changes, lack of appetite, sleepiness, coma, and often death. Extreme lethargy, which lead eventually to coma; double vision, delirium, deafness, and facial palsy often occur in the acute stage of the disease. Aftereffects of this disease may include deafness, epilepsy, and dementia, all the makings of an apostate. Much of the church is asleep! Just look around you! Count the number of empty seats in the house! Where are the saints!?! Asleep! Spiritually asleep! Why?! Because of the lack of commitment! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! Many people in the church are suffering from many of these symptoms. If the pastor preaches a word, and someone gets offended, they become moody. As long as they can identify that word with somebody else in the church they are fine. As soon as that word hit them, they become moody; chewing on moody grass, hot under the collar (fever). They no longer have an appetite for the WORD. They develop an appetite for revenge. They withhold their tithes and offerings, because the sermon upset them. They become lethargic, lazy and indifferent, having no desire to attend Sunday school, nor evening services, and eventually do not attempt to attend weekly services. They suffer from facial palsy, the whole facial expression changes when the pastor comes around. They become indifferent towards anybody that supports the pastor’s preaching. Their vision becomes doubled. They see good as bad and bad as good. They see right as wrong and wrong as right. They become delirious, calling sin righteousness and righteousness sin. They then begin to suffer from spiritual deafness. They have no desire to hear the WORD of God. Epilepsy and dementia soon follow. Epilepsy is a nervous disorder followed by convulsive attacks. The sin in the life of someone bitten by the tsehtsee fly causes them to attack the reputation of the leadership of the church beginning with the pastor. They attack the anointing that is on the pastor’s life, which is plain old-fashioned dementia, or should I say just “plain old crazy!” The Bible says that sin will cause a person to forget what manner of man he is. One of the virtues that have left the church is respect for the man or woman of God. A sinner used to run and hide at the sight of a pastor, now they are so unconcerned and uncaring.

SAUL, A VICTIM OF THE TSEHTSEE FLY 1 Samuel 16:14-23 ~ But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him. 15 And Saul's servants said to him, "Surely, a distressing spirit from God is troubling you. 16 Let our master now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp; and it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well." 17 So Saul said to his servants, "Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring him to me." 18 Then one of the servants answered and said, "Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him." 19 Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep." 20 And Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by his son David to Saul. 21 So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer. 22 Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight." 23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him. NKJV Saul loved David as long as David wasn’t a threat to his kingdom. Isn’t it funny how people love the pastor, and love the church, and love the members as long as there is no threat to their evil plans. 1 Samuel 18:5-16 ~ 5 So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants. 6 Now it had happened as they were coming home, when David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women had come out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy, and with musical instruments. 7 So the women sang as they danced, and said: "Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands." 8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, "They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?" 9 So Saul eyed David from that day forward. 10 And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul's hand. 11 And Saul cast the

spear, for he said, "I will pin David to the wall!" But David escaped his presence twice. 12 Now Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, but had departed from Saul. 13 Therefore Saul removed him from his presence, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people. 14 And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the LORD was with him. 15 Therefore, when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely, he was afraid of him. 16 But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them. NKJV 1 Samuel 18:28~ Thus Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal, Saul's daughter, loved him; 29 and Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul became David's enemy continually. 30 Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed. The Tsehtsee fly will cause a spirit of murder to rise up in the house of God. Let us realize that Satan is the accuser of the brethren. It is his job to accuse the saints of being anything but children of God. 1 Samuel 19 ~ 1 Now Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David; but Jonathan, Saul's son, delighted greatly in David. 2 So Jonathan told David, saying, "My father Saul seeks to kill you. NKJV Saul was so delirious that he sought counsel from a witch. He was so desperate to destroy God’s anointed that he murdered priests and anybody he thought was standing in his way of killing David. His hatred toward God’s anointed literally caused him to become a reprobate (beyond repentance). How many people have attempted, at all costs, to murder the reputation of the anointed of God? 1 Chronicles 10:13-14 ~ So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance. 14 But he did not inquire of the LORD; therefore He killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse. A LESSON FROM JAMES James 1:19-2:1

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. THE FACE FLY

These pests seek out the wounded in the house of God. It is their job to feed on the hurts and heartaches of weak Christians. The face fly does not actually cause disease, but they do transmit disease. This fly is famous for transmitting disease of being judgmental. Watch out for those flies that’s always blowing in your face and spreading gossip about members of the church. The face fly will do more saving his/her own face. This fly will do and say whatever makes them look good and others look bad. Look at Mariam and Aaron in Numbers Chapter 12 verses 1-2. They rebelled against Moses for marrying an Ethiopian woman. The face fly bit them both. They both murmured against the Man of God. Yes they both were leaders and both claimed to be prophets. Yet God was very displeased at their talking against His anointed. Just because you’re anointed does not give you the right to judge your Pastor. Watch yourself! You’re treading on dangerous territory! God heard their words against His manservant. Those words got them in serious trouble with God. God called a meeting with Miriam, Aaron and Moses. He rebuked them harshly for speaking against Moses. Miriam was immediately struck with leprosy. Moses interceded for her and God had mercy, but she was still punished for her rebellious acts. This shows who was truly anointed. Anytime you think you want to talk against your Pastor, read the following scripture. Numbers 12:1 One day Miriam and Aaron were criticizing Moses because his wife was a Cushite woman, 2 and they said, "Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Hasn't he spoken through us, too?" But the Lord heard them. 3 Immediately he summoned Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to the Tabernacle: "Come here, you three," he commanded. So they stood before the Lord. (Now Moses was the humblest man on earth.) 5 Then the Lord descended in the Cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle. "Aaron and Miriam, step forward," he commanded; and they did. 6 And the Lord said to them, "Even with a prophet, I would communicate by visions and dreams; 7 but that is not how I communicate with my servant Moses. He is completely at home in my house! With him I speak face to face! And he shall see the very form of God! Why then were you not afraid to criticize him?" 9 Then the anger of the Lord grew hot against them, and he departed. 10 As the Cloud moved from above the Tabernacle, Miriam suddenly became white with leprosy. When Aaron saw what had happened, 11 he cried out to Moses, "Oh, sir, do not punish us for this sin; we were fools to do such a thing. 12 Don't let her be as one dead, whose body is half rotted away at birth." 13 And Moses cried out to the Lord, "Heal her, O God, I beg you!" 14 And the Lord said to Moses, "If her father had but spit in her face she would be defiled seven days. Let her be banished from the camp for seven days, and after that she can come back again." 15 So Miriam was excluded from the camp for seven days, and the people waited until she was brought back in before they traveled again. 16 Afterwards they left Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran. The Nasty Attitude Of Miriam and Aaron: They were not as anointed as they thought. They were not on the same level as their leader They were disrespectful to their leader They were meddling in their’ leader’s business They were speaking against God’s anointed They were guilty of judging God’s anointed Their sin hindered progress (they were not able to travel until Miriam was

allowed back in the camp) verse 15. They were not afraid to criticize Moses, even though he was their leader They angered God causing judgment to come on Miriam immediately The Humble Attitude Of Moses: Moses was the most humble man on earth He forgave them of their sins He stood in the gap and prayed for Miriam and Aaron Because of his spirit of forgiveness, their lives were spared His humbleness changed God’s mind toward Miriam and Aaron

BE CAREFUL NOT TO PUT YOUR MOUTH ON YOUR PASTOR! GOD IS LISTENING TO EVERY WORD YOU SAY! WHEN YOU ARE APPROACHED BY SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO JUDGE YOUR LEADER(S), YOU HAD BETTER TELL THAT FLY TO GET OUT OF YOUR FACE WITH THAT FOOLISHNESS.

SHOO FLY, DON’T BOTHER ME BECAUSE I BELONG TO SOMEBODY

AND HE IS LISTENING TO YOU AND HE’S LISTENING TO ME.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you that I have a heart of love toward my Pastor. I rebuke every lying tongue that has risen up against him/her. I pray that you would deal with every judgmental and critical person that is trying to destroy your servant. I denounce every lie and every liar that has risen up against my Pastor. Father, help me to recognize the enemy. Raise me up to be an intercessor on behalf of my Pastor. I pray that you would hide him/her under the shadow of your wings. I ask that you would still the enemy on his/her behalf. In Jesus name Amen.

The Spirit Of Nastiness

Baal-Zebub Flies are the nastiest little creatures. The last thing we want around our food or buzzing in our ear is flies. Beel-Zebub or Baal-Zebub, another name of Baal, meaning "lord of the fly. Baalzebub was worshipped as the producer of flies. He was the god of the city of Ekron in 2 Kings Chapter 1 verses 2 - 6 and 16. Not only was he worshipped as the producer of flies, but as the god who could defend the people against the flies. Isn’t that just how the devil operates. He’ll stir up mess and then he’ll fight against what he stirred up. In Matthew Chapter 12 verse 24 he was called the ruler of demons. In Mark Chapter 3 verse 22 and in Luke Chapter 11 verse 15, Jesus called him Satan. It is the devil’s job to devour. He operates in the churches by overwhelming the people of God with his nastiness. This nasty spirit causes the growth of the church as well as individuals to be stunted. Doctor Webster defines nasty as filthy, indecent, malicious or spiteful, difficult or disagreeable, and unfair. Doesn’t that sound just like church folk? There is a difference between church folk and Christian folk. It’s called the wheat and the tare, the sheep and the goat. At the first sight of a fly most people will give the same remark, “that nasty fly is getting on my nerves.” Why then do we allow those nasty pests to infest our spirits and our churches?! Let’s take a look at some of the nastiness that is in the church. Don’t get offended if some of these shoes fit you. Repent and keep going! I did!

Nasty attitudes – Too often we see in the church people with nasty attitudes towards their Pastor as well as other people. If asked why, 99% of them couldn’t give a decent answer. If you really look close, you’ll find out that their nasty attitudes is because those nasty people they call friends have nasty attitudes. The 1 % that can give an answer is refusing to operate in the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation.

When flies blow on something they transfer disease-causing germs. What nasty fly has blown on you lately? Shoo that fly and rebuke that nasty attitude out of your spirit, you have work to do! It can’t get done with that nasty attitude. A nasty attitude births the nasty spirit of criticism. Just like Aaron and Miriam in Numbers 12:1-2- And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian

woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. 2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it. KJV These two had a nasty attitude towards their leader’s wife. So they had a nasty spirit of criticism because he married a woman of a different race! How nasty!?! Nasty! Nasty! Nasty! They assumed they were attacking his decision in choosing a wife, but they were actually attacking his anointing. You think you are attacking your Pastor’s leadership ability, but in essence, you are attacking God’s anointed. That’s dangerous ground you’re treading on my brother and my sister. That’s nasty! You need to repent now! Don’t wait! In verse 2, they challenged his gifts, his ability to hear from God, his character, and his anointing. “Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses?” Now they had nasty dispositions, and nasty mouths. Their natural, nasty selves began to show. Listen at what they said. “We’re prophets too! We can hear from God too! God didn’t tell him to marry that Ethiopian woman! He’s wrong for that!”Look at what happened in the latter part of verse 2! And the LORD heard it! Now if God heard Aaron and Miriam, don’t you think HE hears you!?!?! Watch what you say about your Pastor, God hears every word that you think and speak. Now verse 3 says that Moses was very meek among all the men which were upon the face of the earth. Why do you suppose this verse is injected there? Because your pastor has a reputation with God; regardless of what you think about him or her, God has their back! It is best for you to keep your mouth off of your pastor! Let this be a warning to you! Don’t entertain those flies of judgment, criticism,

murmuring, and complaining against your pastor. You will get in big trouble with God about HIS servants! Now look at verse 4; after God heard their conversation about Moses, GOD himself called a meeting with the three of them. And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. Why did he include Moses in the meeting? Because HE wanted Moses to know about the nasty attitudes of those who were working close with him in ministry. God will pull the cover off of your nastiness. God spoke suddenly to Moses, Aaron and Miriam. Why suddenly? Why did God not allow them to continue with this nasty attitude? Had they continued to talk among themselves, that critical spirit would have infested the rest of the congregation. No member should ever, nor have the right, especially those in leadership; to criticize the pastor in any way. This is what causes schisms (divisions) in the body. Always give way to prayer. God also dealt with it immediately because they were treading very dangerous ground. {Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm} {1 Chronicles 16:22}

In verses 5-7, God reminds Aaron and Miriam exactly who the leader is among them. 5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. KJV Moses was on a whole different level than the Miriam and Aaron! Look at verses 8 and 9. God is angry because they challenged HIS authority and HIS wisdom. {With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? 9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed. KJV Who are we to say that God has not spoken to our Pastor?} Because we operate in the gifts of prophesy, and because we can teach or preach, who are we to judge what the pastor does? Who are we to say what God has or has not spoken through HIS servant? Shoo fly, don’t bother me!!!!

Nasty reputations ~ Many times our character is ruined at the hands of those we consider friends. Reputation is defined as a person’s character or public esteem. Millions of pastors across the world have nasty reputations because the members have literally degraded and debased their Pastors bases on what they have heard and not what they have experienced.

In Psalm 35:7-28, David is tormented by those that desire to see him fall. Yet he prays for God’s deliverance in the situation. God is the refuge and strength of those who will not seek to take matters in their own hands. When the reputation of a child of God is being attacked. It is not our duty and responsibility to search out every lie and every liar. It is our duty to continue doing good, even to the enemy. Wisdom says, a lie will die, but the truth will stand. Even though it seems that the lie never dies, and is always there to torment the child of God; just know in your hearts that every lie that has been put out against you will ultimately die. Every truth that you uphold will be fruit to your soul. Psalm 35:7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Flies don’t like to see good in the house of God. It is the duty of the enemy to dig pits for the saints. If the reputation of a man can be destroyed, then the works of that man will ultimately be destroyed. You keep working and keep standing for righteousness, God will avenge you shortly.

False witnesses are running rampant in the church. It is an infestation of what’s called the face fly. We’ll deal with that later. (11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.) Clicks rise up in the house of God to destroy

Page 33: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

the reputation of the saints of God. Some even have the audacity to think they can do a better job as pastor! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! When the enemy rewards you evil for all the good you do, continue doing good, and watch what God does through you! (12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.) In verses 13-16 we learn that doing good is not always appreciated. (13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. 14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother. 15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: 16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.)

In verse 18 we learn to give thanks for the persecutions and the nasty reputation. (18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.)

In verse 21 we learn that lies will seem to avail much, but the righteous will be delivered out of them all. (21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.) Don’t allow the flies to blow on your heart. Love your enemies. Do good to them that seek to destroy your good name.

When people glory in the downfall of another, they are hard hearted, cold and callous, and will eventually be destroyed themselves. This is not the way of God’s people. Philippians 3:18-21 - (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. KJV Nasty dispositions ~ Church folk have what’s called a church face. This is

the face that hides the real face. The church attitude is a cover up of the real attitude; the nasty disposition that the family see. Disposition means natural attitude. Many times we don’t see the natural attitude in people in the church until we have developed a close relationship with them. Then their nasty disposition comes out. When things don’t go their way their natural attitude or that nasty disposition that has been hidden will come out and shine like the sun on a baldhead! Then there are those who intentionally show their nasty disposition in church because they don’t want people to speak to them. They are nasty on purpose. The excuse they use to be nasty is the fact that people won’t speak to them. Of course not, with a face like flint, people are afraid to speak to you. That natural attitude is showing, honey! Show some love! When people intentionally

set themselves as mean, in order to avoid being kind, it is called shifting

the blame. This is sad, but it is true. Some people would rather not be friendly towards other Christians so they will have an excuse not to get involved in ministry. I’ll bet you know a mean Christian or two! Shoo fly, don’t bother me!

Then there are those who are nasty because of jealousy of another person’s gift. Saul had a nasty disposition because of his sin and rebellion against God. God’s spirit departed from Saul, leaving him and others around him to deal with his nasty disposition or his natural attitude. The natural attitude of man is of course that of sin. Sin is nasty!!!! Saul went from nasty to nice and back to nasty! It is up to us to remain in covenant with God. Once we have been delivered from a nasty life, we should never have a desire to go back to it. 1 Samuel 16:14-23 ~ But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 15 And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. 16 Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. 17 And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me. 18 Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him. 19 Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep. 20 And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul. 21 And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. 22 And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.

23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. KJV

Nasty mouths ~ There are times when the saints have nasty mouths. Look at Peter. Peter’s life was on the line and he did not want to die. A lot of us just need to go ahead and die. Stop trying to save your reputation. People will believe what they want to believe regardless of what you say. Peter was caught between a rock and a hard place. He loved Jesus. We all know that. But now he was afraid of losing his life. How many of us have been in Peter’s shoes? How many of us have found nastiness coming out of our mouths.

In Matthew 26:73-74, Peter’s nasty mouth gets the best of him for a season. {Matthew 74 ~ Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. KJV} There are times when our nasty mouths get the best of us. In situations of heated discussions, people tend to say things that should not be in the vocabulary of Christians. Because of the nastiness of the mouth, the testimony and the witness for Christ are destroyed. James 3:8-10 ~8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. KJV

Cursing is not the only nastiness that comes out of the mouths of the saints. There are times when men and women get into conversations that are not of God. This too invites nasty conversations in the church. Don’t play with lust! It won’t play back! No person has a right as a Christian to entertain or engage in nasty conversations. Keep your mouth shut and your legs will stay shut too! Sexual perversion is running rampant in the church. God does not smile at this, neither should we! It’s not funny!! It is a spirit from Hell sent by the lord of the flies to destroy the church! Brothers, leave other brothers alone! Sisters, leave other sisters alone! Brothers, leave the sisters alone! Sisters, leave the brothers alone! And please leave the children alone! Colossians 3:7-9 ~ 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; KJV Nasty minds ~ Some people just refuse to feed their minds with the

WORD OF GOD. It is when we fill our minds with evil thinking and mischief that the thoughts become evil toward others. A wasted mind is a nasty mind.A mind that devises hurt against another is a spirit of

Page 36: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

nastiness. Titus 1:15-16- Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. KJV

Some people just refuse to think good about anybody! There is a warped sense of judgment against everything that is good. People that do not have a mind to live holy and work in ministry will devise much wickedness against those that do. Acts 14:2- But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren. KJV Second Corinthians, Chapter 4, verses 3 and 4 teaches us that the enemy of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers. {3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. KJV If we keep our mouth clean then the mind will be clean also. {Ephesians 4:22-27 ~ 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil KJV Is your mouth nasty and full of lies? Many Christians struggle with a lying spirit. Knowing how God feels about lying might help bring about deliverance. Proverbs 12:22 ~ Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. KJV (Abomination is anything that offends the spiritual, religious, or moral sense of a person and causes extreme disgust, hatred, or loathing.) That’s how God feels about lying. Romans 3:13-18 ~ Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. KJV People will destroy a person’s reputation, and think they are doing God a service. That’s nasty! Lying is contrary to the nature of God. Exodus 20:16 ~ Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. KJV God is so strongly against lying that HE has commanded that HIS children: Hate it. ~ Proverbs 13:5 Avoid it ~ Zephaniah 3:13 Show no respect to those who do lie ~ Psalm 40:4

Reject the company of liars ~ Psalm 101:7 Pray for deliverance from lying ~ Psalm 119:29

Ephesians 4:22-5:1~That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. KJV Nasty ways ~ It is a sad thing when the ways of people are taken lightly.

God is an all seeing, all knowing God. He sees and knows the way we take, whether it is good or evil. Our ways sometimes causes judgment. The ways of church folk can be so nasty! Rather than catching the vision and running with it, some just assume to fight against the vision. Many churches have split because of the nasty ways of people. If things don’t go the way you think they should, it is not up to you to bring judgment to the house of God. It is not your way; it is God’s way! If your way is not in the vision, then change your way to the way of the vision. God gives the vision to the Pastor, not to the people. The pastor in turn, shares the vision with the people. The people then share their gifts and talents with the pastor so that the vision can become a reality! Just because the pastor doesn’t do things your way, you have the audacity to hold back God’s tithes! There are some nasty ways in the church! Just because it’s not your program, you won’t support it! That’s nasty! It’s God’s program! The different auxiliaries in the church are often fighting against each other and refuse to support each other. We should learn to support every ministry in the church. A house divided cannot stand! How many times have you heard this weak statement; “they didn’t support our program, I’m not supporting theirs.” Shoo fly, don’t bother me!

The remedy for nasty ways ~ Psalm 119:9-11 ~ Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. KJV

Proverbs 12:15 - The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. KJV 2 Chronicles 7:14 -If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. KJV Nasty living ~ Proverbs 16:2 – All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;

but the LORD weigheth the spirits. KJV This should be engraved in the hearts of God’s people. What we call righteousness is not necessarily so in God’s eyes. Psalm 1:6 - For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. KJV

Jeremiah 23:14~ I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. KJV That’s nasty!

GOD SEES HOW YOU’RE LIVING Isaiah 59:1-4 ~ 59:1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. 4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. KJV It is time we stand up for righteousness!

Colossians 3:5-17 Teaches Us To Kill The Flesh And Do Away With Nasty Living

Colossians 3:5-17~Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: {fornication – unlawful sexual intercourse} {uncleanness – not clean, not pure} {inordinate affection – unusual, excessive feeling} {evil concupiscence – wicked desire or lustful passion} {covetousness – desire enviously} {idolatry – worshiper of idols} 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. {anger – a strong feeling of displeasure} {wrath – violent anger} {malice – desire to cause pain or injury to another} {blasphemy – lack of devotion toward God or anything sacred} {filthy communication – disgusting talk} 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. KJV We learn in Matthew Chapter 7 what will happen to those who live nasty lives. {13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Nasty fasting ~ God told the prophet Isaiah in the 58th Chapter of the

book of Isaiah to show HIS people their nasty way of fasting.

Isaiah 58:1-7~ 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. 2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. 3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. 4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? This is nasty fasting! But look at the next two verses at God’s way of fasting! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! 6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? KJV Nasty friendships and nasty relationships~How often do we find

ourselves in wrong relationships? Any relationship that does not inhibit your growth in Christ is a nasty relationship. Any relationship that prevents God’s work from going forth is a nasty relationship! If you are keeping company with people that are speaking evil of the pastor and the church, you are in a nasty relationship and need to be delivered! Let’s take a look in the book of Nehemiah the 4th Chapter, verses 1-8 at how Sanballat conspired to bring the work of God to a halt. Is you keeping company with Sanballat? Have you set yourself against the Pastor to destroy the church? Have you made up your mind that you will stop progress? What God has spoken in the lives of your pastors will come to past regardless of who fights against the vision. It doesn’t matter who gets angry, or jealous, God will complete that good work that HE has begun in HIS servants. God will complete what HE begins. He’s a God of completion. Philippians 1:6 ~… 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; …NKJV

Nehemiah 4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. 2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE CHURCH CAN MAKE IT WITHOUT YOU?! YES! IT IS! AND YES IT WILL! 3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall. DON’T BE SO SURE! GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR SCHEMES! 4 Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: 5 And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders. 6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. REGARDLESS OF THE MURMURINGS AND COMPLAINTS IN THE HOUSE OF GOD, THERE ARE THOSE WHO STILL HAVE A MIND TO WORK! Shoo fly, I have work to do! 7 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, THE DEVIL DON’T LIKE IT WHEN THE WORK CONTINUES. EVEN THOUGH DIVISIONS TAKE PLACE AND PEOPLE LEAVE THE CHURCH, GOD’S WORK WILL STILL GO ON. PEOPLE HAVE THE SAD IDEA THAT THE CHURCH CAN’T MAKE IT WITHOUT THEM! GOD’S WORK WILL ALWAYS GO ON, REGARDLESS OF WHO LEAVES THE CHURCH. IT IS THE TRICKOF THE ENEMY TO CAUSE PEOPLE TO THINK THEIR MONEY IS WHAT’S KEEPING THE CHURCH GOING. GOD DOES NOT NEED OUR MONEY! WE NEED HIS! 8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. KJV WHEN THE DEVIL SEE THAT THE WORK CONTINUES EVEN THOUGH HE CAUSED THE CHURCH TO SPLIT, HE WILL BECOME EVEN MORE ANGRY, AND WILL CONTINUE TO WORK AGAINST THE CHURCH. WE MUST RECOGNIZE THESE FLIES OF DISCORD AND CONTINUE TO WORK. WE MUST CONTINUE IN PRAYER. WE MUST CONTINUE TO LIFT UP OUR PASTOR IN PRAYER. WE MUST LEARN TO DO WARFARE.

9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them. LET’S LEARN FROM THIS VERSE THAT WHEN THE ENEMY IS RUNNING RAMPANT IN THE CHURCH, WE CAN COUNTER ATTACK WITH OUR PRAYERS. WE CAN PRAY AND WORK AT THE SAME TIME! GET BUSY! AND START PRAYING! YOUR PASTOR NEEDS YOU TO INTERCEDE NOW! 10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. JUST REMEMBER THAT ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. WE ARE WELL ABLE! WE SERVE A BIG GOD! 11 And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease. 12 And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you. IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THE ENEMY TELL YOU YOU’RE DEFEATED. TRUST GOD AND WATCH HIM FIGHT FOR YOU! 13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows. IT’S TIME FOR BATTLE! SET YOURSELVES AND PREPARE TO FIGHT! HOW? SPIRITUAL WARFARE! SUPPORT YOUR PASTOR AND THE VISION. SUPPORT THE MEMBERS. EDIFY THE BODY, BUILD UP THE BODY! SHOW LOVE TOWARD YOUR FELLOW CHRISTIANS. DO GOOD! CATCH THE VISION AND RUN WITH IT! THE DEVIL IS DEFEATED EVERYTIME YOU SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH! 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is

great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH. TELL THE DEVIL HE CAN’T HAVE YOUR CHURCH OR YOUR PASTOR. LET HIM KNOW THAT YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST ARE OFF LIMITS TO HIS WICKED SCHEMES. 15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work. WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO WORK IN THE CHURCH, THE DEVIL IS DEFEATED AND HIS WORK AGAINST THE CHURCH HAS COME TO NOUGHT! KEEP WORKING MY BROTHER. KEEP WORKING MY SISTER. STAY ON YOUR WALL! DO A GREAT WORK FOR GOD! YOUR LABOR OF LOVE WILL CERTAINLY BE REWARDED!

Jezebel and Ahab (The Nasty Couple} Nasty husbands & nasty wives ~ (Jezebel) & (Ahab) 1 Kings 16:29-33 ~ 31

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. 32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him. KJV

Ahab was nasty and so was his wife Jezebel. What an awful situation to have a nasty spouse that fight against the will of God! Greed and lust will cause many couples to fight against the vision and the visionary. Ahab and Jezebel were consumed with greed, lust and wickedness. 1 Kings 21:25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. KJV When Ahab was refused a vineyard that he desired to add to his many pleasures, his wicked and nasty wife Jezebel had the owner put to death by falsely charging him with blasphemy. Jezebel, in all of her nasty glory, soon acquired complete control over her husband. How awful and how sinful it is for nasty wives to control nasty, weak husbands. This is very prevalent in the church. How many nasty women, like Jezebel have destroyed many men of God? It is the wickedness of a nasty woman that can bring down a mighty man! When Ahab and Jezebel can’t have their way in the church, they will try to tear it down, beginning with the pastor. I’m sure you know them! Shoo fly, don’t bother me. 1 Kings 21:1-16 - And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. 2 And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. 3 And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

The Spirit of Scandal The Accuser Of The Brethren

4 And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread? 6 And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard. 7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. 8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth. 9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people: 10 And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die. 11 And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. 12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. 13 And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died. 14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead. 15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead. 16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. KJV

Nasty children – nasty husbands and nasty wives produce nasty children ~ Sometimes we wonder why people act like they do in church. We don’t understand why some people just have to cause division in the church. It’s because they inherited it from their parents. “My daddy built this church!” “SO!” Shoo fly, don’t bother me!

In 2 Chronicles Chapter 22:2-5, we learn that Athaliah, Queen of Judah, inherited her wickedness from her parents. She obviously inherited her mother’s ruthlessness and wicked ways. Her goal was to destroy the lineage of David. Little did she know God had a way to fulfill HIS promises. 2 Chronicles Chapter 2:2- Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counseller to do wickedly. 4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father to his destruction. 5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram

the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.) KJV

Just like her wicked mother, Jezebel, Athaliah murdered to get what she wanted. She too controlled her husband. Being made a widow, she knew the only way to hold on to the throne was to murder her grandchildren. She in all of her ruthless glory had God’s people put to death. In her evil heart, murdering her grandchildren was worth the kingdom. (2 Kings 11:1-3 And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal. 2 But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain. 3 And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land. KJV

Just when she thought things were going her way, she found out just like Jezebel, that God had risen up someone to destroy her wickedness. (2 Kings 11:12-16 - And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king. 13 And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the LORD. 14 And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason. 15 But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD. 16 And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain. KJV

Nasty prayers ~ Prayers of the rebellious are nasty prayers. Proverbs

28:9 - 9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. KJV The reason so many prayers go unanswered is because of rebellion and sin.

Nasty prayers are prayers of revenge. It is not up to us to pray for revenge, even though we have been hurt to the point that all we can think about is revenge. People in the church are often guilty of praying nasty prayers of revenge. We want God to do so much worst to them that was done to us. Revenge belongs to God. At the first sign of hurt, we run to the writings of David where he prays for revenge on his enemies. God has a better way! In Ezekiel Chapter 25:15-17, God lets us know that it is HE who revenges {15 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred; 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. 17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.} KJV

The church is full of the Hatfields and the McCoys. “If you kill my dog, I’ll kill your cat!” What a nasty attitude for the children of God to have toward each other. We must learn that only God is qualified to seek vengeance because HIS vengeance is based on HIS holiness, HIS righteousness and justice, which punishes sin and vindicates the oppressed and the poor in spirit. We learn from the Apostle Paul, who was persecuted much that vengeance belongs to God and only God. Paul had every right to pray for vengeance, but instead he prayed for the salvation of his enemies. (Romans 12:19-21 - 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. } KJV

Boastful praying is nasty praying. Luke 18:9-14 ~ And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the weak, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. KJV

Nasty praise ~ Do not allow your praise to become nasty. Keep your heart and minds holy. Sanctify your tongue! When you stand praising God, make sure there is no nastiness found in your praise.

Make sure you are not guilty of loving God and hating your fellowman. When we stand before God and offer HIM our praise we must be doers of Luke 6:27-37 -27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. 31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. KJV

Nasty worship ~ Worship is very precious to the Lord, and should be as precious to us. People often attempt to worship God, but because of so much mess in the hearts of man many never experience true worship. Trying to worship God with issues in the heart is a dangerous and terrible position to be in. Are we guilty of nasty worship? Is there any unforgiveness in your heart? Is there anything in you that would hinder true worship?

People attempt to enter into the presence of God by worshipping HIM half-hearted. It is impossible! We want the best that God has. On the other hand, so does HE! He wants our best praise and our best worship. How is that given? It is given in spirit and in truth. We should never attempt to worship God with mess in our hearts! He deserves better! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! Mark 7:6-7 ~ 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctines the commandments of men. KJV John 4:23-24 - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. KJV Nasty dancing ~ Are you dancing in church just to prove to someone that

you can dance? Are you dancing just to show off? Are you dancing because you have a reason to?

It is not surprising to see people dancing to the beat of the music in church. What is surprising is to know the reason behind the dancing. People dance because they know it irritates the person they just cursed out in the parking lot. People dance as an act of vengeance toward another person. Dancing is done to seduce a person. Dancing is done to intimidate a person. Dancing is done to cover up sin and guilt. Don’t be guilty of nasty dancing. The daughter of Herodias was guilty of nasty dancing. In Mark 6:21-28, her dancing became nasty in that she requested the death of God’s servant, John the Baptist. Has your dancing become nasty? Mark 6:21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee; 22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. 23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom. 24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist. 25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist. 26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her. 27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and

commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison, 28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother. KJV

Nasty testimonies ~ Testimonies are to be given to glorify God. A testimony is

a witness to the delivering power of God. If you have not been delivered from a test, then you have no testimony.

A testimony is a witness to what is truth. People need to know that testimonies are not given to throw stones at others. People will often get up in church and attempt to testify only leaving the congregation with a sense of wonder. Wondering what in the world did she say?!?! Who was that directed to? I thought she was supposed to be testifying! If your testimony does not edify God, it is a nasty testimony. If your testimony exalts you, it is a nasty testimony. If your testimony tears down other people, it is a nasty testimony. Shoo fly, don’t bother me! TESTIFY TO THE GLORY OF GOD!

Job said, “I know my Redeemer lives!” Job had a testimony. He had been through a test that made even his wife provoke him to curse God and die. But Job was the one that had the testimony that he pleased God and was perfect and upright. God testified of Job! Job 1:1~There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. KJV Even Satan testified of Job’s righteousness. Job 1:6-9~ 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? KJV David testifies in Psalm 27:13-14 ~ I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. In verse 14 he encourages the saints to wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. KJV THAT’S A TESTIMONY! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! I’ve got a testimony! Paul testifies in 2 Timothy 1:12~For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. KJV Personal Prayer: __________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A REAL TESTIMONY!

Paul and Timothy testifies in Titus 3:3-7~For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. KJV Nasty giving ~ Are you sincerely giving God the tithe (tenth), it belongs

to HIM anyway! Are you honestly giving the offering that HE commands you to? Is your giving nasty?

Are you giving and always complaining about what you give, as though it is too much?! Does your giving have a motive attached? Do you give boastfully? Do you give grudgingly? Are you selfish with your giving? Are you prideful in your giving? The Bible teaches us in 2 Corinthians Chapter 9, verses 6 and 7, God loves a cheerful giver. {2 Corinthians 9:6-7~ 6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.} Shoo fly, don’t bother me!

A LESSON TO BE LEARNED ON NASTY GIVING Acts 4:32-5:16

Ananias and Sapphira The Nasty Givers

Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. 36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, 37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. 7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. 11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one. KJV Imagine what God could do through the church, if people would learn to give according as God commanded! Wouldn’t you love to see these things happen in your church?!?! Then shoo the flies of stinginess and give, honey, give!

Nasty works ~ Things that’s done for show! Things that are done for self gain. What is your purpose for working in the church? I pray that it is to edify and build up the body. I pray that your works are works of honesty and goodness.

Only the works that are done for Christ will last. Let us keep in mind that this is judgment work. Ecclesiastes 12:14 -For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. KJV WE MUST ALL APPEAR

BEFORE THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST. Second Corinthians 5:10 - For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. KJV

Good works accompany salvation. Hebrews 6:9-12 - 9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. KJV

Our works should be committed to the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. KJV

Faith Without Works Is Nasty Faith

James 2:14-20 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? KJV

Failing To Use Your Gifts & Talents Is Nasty Works

Matthew 25:24-28 24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. KJV

Operating in the fruit of the Spirit will bring an end to nasty works. Ephesians 5:9-12- 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. Nasty love ~ How many times do we say we love God, but there is a problem with our love when we can’t love our neighbor?

In 1 John 4:20-21 we read about nasty love. {20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.} KJV What good does it do us to confess our love to God and possess hatred for our fellowman? Does your love have a motive? Does your love place demands on the lives of others? Does your love

come with stipulations? Does your love come with a price? If so, then your love is nasty! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! Let’s look at what Jesus says about love in Matthew Chapter 22:37-40 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. KJV Is the love we show toward others? If not, then it is nasty love. Nasty love is a sign of spiritual death. In 1 John 3:14-15 – we learn that true love brings life and nasty love death. (14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.}

KJV We must past from death to life in order to receive eternal life. God knows when our love is nasty and when it is genuine. The hour has come for the church to exemplify real love. True disciples love each other. There are many tell tell signs in the church regarding true love and nasty love. The mark of a true disciple is one that demonstrates love. It is time for the church to show real love. John 13:35 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. KJV Nasty houses ~ What’s going on in your house? Does God live in your

house? Is your house sanctified? Is your house a house of gossip and slander? Do you hold meetings to talk about the Pastor and the members of the church? If so, your house is a nasty house. Is your house the hang out place for all those that don’t go to Bible Study or Sunday evening service? If so, your house is nasty. Is your house the gathering place for all the pew sitters? Shoo fly, don’t bother me. Does all the rebellious members hang out at your house?

2 Tim 3:1-7 - 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

KJV Nasty, Nasty, Nasty! Shoo fly, don’t bother me! Nasty spirits ~ Cold toward the people in church. Cold toward the Pastor.

So many people are cold toward the ministry. Cold, Cold, Cold!!!! Nasty, Nasty, Nasty! Hateful, murmuring, despisers of good, and lawless. The Scriptures tells us that in the last days the love of many will grow cold.

Matthew 24:12-13 ~ 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. KJV

When a person gets upset because of the good that people do in the house of God, that person possesses a nasty spirit. We learn in the Fifth Chapter of Galatians about nasty spirits. Galatians 5:19-21 - 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Adultery–sexual unfaithfulness of a married person Fornication-unlawful sexual intercourse Lasciviousness- vulgar and indecent sex Idolatry – the worship of idols Witchcraft - practices of a witch Hatred- intense hostility, openly or actively unfriendly toward a person Variance – different from its kind, the act of being different Emulations - trying to equal or excel Wrath – violent anger Strife – conflict or clash of ideas Seditions – revolution against a government; to overthrow Heresies – opinion or doctrine contrary to church principles of belief Envyings –disturbed because of another’s advantage Revellings – wild party or celebration

We learn in Galatians 5:22-26 what the flies are after. They are after the good fruit in the church. Verse 22, But the fruit of the Spirit is:

1. love 2. joy 3. peace 4. longsuffering 5. gentleness 6. goodness 7. faith 8. meekness 9. temperance

…against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. KJV

Fruit have to be nourished in order to grow into good fruit. The three-fold cord that nourishes the fruit of the spirit is goodness, righteousness and truth. Without these three, our fruit is damaged, and ineffective. KJV Have you checked your fruit lately? Shoo fly, don’t bother me! Nasty hearts ~ To care for this life more than eternal life is a sign of a

nasty heart. How many times have we missed church to satisfy the deeds of the flesh? How many times does the Pastor have to ask you to support the different church services? How many times have you missed an evening service because you wanted to satisfy your nasty heart?

Jesus warns us of this very thing in Luke 21:33-34 - 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day

come upon you unawares. KJV (surfeiting-excessive indulgence to the point of disgust)

A Nasty Heart Produces Evil Works And Jealousy James 3:14-18

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. KJV

A True Heart Will Encourage Others To Good Works

Hebrews 10:21-25 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Page 55: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. KJV

Nasty hands ~ Have your hands been in mischief?

Joseph’s ten brothers possessed a jealous spirit. This jealousy caused their hands to become nasty. The hands can only do what the heart tells them to. The evil deed was already worked out in their hearts. Their hands just carried it out to completion. Genesis 37:4-5 –and when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him. 5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

People can actually despise someone so bad that they devise a plot to get rid of that person. Because of hatred and jealousy, people are excommunicated from a church, a family, a city, a country. Joseph was excommunicated from his family, and his land because of the nasty hearts of his brothers. In Genesis Chapter 37:23-28 we find the nasty hands of his brothers at work. Genesis 37:23 - And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; 24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it. 25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt. 26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? 27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content. 28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

Unlike the story of Cain and Abel, there was enough conscience in one of Joseph’s brothers to stop the others from actually committing murder. Judah was the one that had a bit of conscience left in him to convince the others not to kill their younger brother. Cain, on the other hand, had no conscience. His greed and jealous hatred for Abel got the best of him. His hands were nasty with the blood of his brother. He committed murder because God honored his brother’s offering above his. Genesis 4:8-10 – And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. KJV How many times have we seen jealous rages in the church because of a person’s gift? Are your hands in mischief because of jealousy in the ministry? You don’t

Page 56: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

56

have to be envious of another person’s gifts. God has equipped us all with gifts that can be used in the church! Discover what that gift is, cleanse your hands of the nasty deeds of the past, and get busy putting those hands to good works. Nasty feet ~ Where have your feet been? Are you guilty of having nasty

feet? Have you been standing in a gossip corner? Have you been to the nightclub? Have you been with that man’s wife? Have you been with that woman’s husband? Have you been in the ABC store? Have you been in the crack house? Have you been involved in stealing?

Proverbs teaches us about feet that run to mischief. Feet that run to mischief Proverbs 1:11-19 ~ 11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: 12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: 13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: 15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. 17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. 18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. 19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

LORD KEEP MY FEET Psalm 119:101-106

Psalm 119:101 – I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. 102 I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. 103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. 106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. Prayer: Father, I humbly submit my life and ways to you. As I have taken an inventory of myself, I am asking that you cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Every filthy and nasty way in me, I ask you to purge out of me now. I repent for all the nasty deeds that I have done toward my Pastor and church members. I thank you that you are a God of a second chance. Wash me and cleanse me. Prove me and see if there be any wicked way in me. Search my heart, Lord and create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit. Father, I ask that you would sanctify my attitude towards my pastor, my church family, and the vision that you have given my pastor. Give me the mind to support to the best of my ability, the ministry, physically, spiritually, and financially. In Jesus’ name Amen.

Shoo The Flies Out Of The Church Ecclesiastes 10:1

Ecclesiastes Chapter 10 teaches that a little sin can do much damage to the person that is in reputation for wisdom and honor. A little sin may seem just that, little; however, that little sin that so often goes unchecked can destroy a life time of good that has been accomplished through much prayer, fasting and sacrifice. All it takes is one blow of nastiness from a little housefly to destroy a testimony, a reputation, a life, a relationship, or even a church. In First Thessalonians Chapter 5 verses 12-15, Paul gives the church these words of wisdom: And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

Don’t allow the flies to blow on your Pastors. Know your Pastor’s heart, know his/her desires, Know the vision of the house Honor your leaders in love Live in peace in the church Shoo the flies by warning them that are unruly Comfort the feebleminded, those whom the flies have already blew on Support the weak, (shoo the flies away, weakness is contagious) Be patient toward all men Do not render evil for evil Follow that which is good

The Pastors are that precious and costly ointment that the flies desire to devour and destroy. Don’t allow the enemy to corrupt your minds against your leader. You won’t always agree with him or her, but they are still your Pastors. You may not like what is preached across the pulpit, but that’s still your Pastor. You may not like the people he work with in ministry, but that’s still your Pastor. You might think you can do a much better job than your Pastor, but that’s still your Pastor. If you could, then God would have called you to be the Pastor. One of the most evil ways of a person is to misjudge another. Don’t allow flies to blow in your ear about your Pastor. David had every right and every opportunity to get revenge on Saul, but because he remembered that Saul was king and that Saul was God’s anointed, he refused to get revenge. 1 Samuel 24:2-7 ~ 2 Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his

Page 58: Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me Flies In The Housepgbcyadkinville.org/f/docs/WidgetFiles/widget-40-e3a482e1.pdf · Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me ~ Flies In The House What you need to know

58

men upon the rocks of the wild goats. 3 And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave. 4 And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul’s robe privily. 5 And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt. 6 And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’s anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD. 7 So David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way. KJV

It does not matter what revenge you think is due you. God forbids you to touch HIS anointed in any way, whether by thought, word or deed! Your Pastor is God’s anointed. Remember this truth, “vengeance belongs to the Lord and only HIM. ANYTIME YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WANT TO SPEAK EVIL OF YOUR PASTOR, JUST SING THE SHOO FLY SONG!

Remember that when flies blow in the house of God, it is not only to the destruction and demise of the Pastor, but the whole body. The flies shoo and the ointment stinks, putting off a foul odor in the whole house. If the Pastor looks bad and smells bad, so does the whole house. Keep your Pastor’s name and reputation good at all times. Do not cease to pray for your church and your leaders, whether they are the Pastor, Deacons, Local Ministers, and laity, all the way to the smallest child. It’s your church that the flies want to ferment and disease. If the enemy can put your church in a state of decomposition, (to separate into parts)—{i.e., schisms-divisions}, the witness of every Child of God is in the process of being destroyed. Keep the reputation of your Pastor good. And remember he or she is God’s anointed. Don’t let the flies blow on the anointed.

PRAYER: Father, I pray for the good name of my Pastor. I ask you Lord to keep him/her always in good standing. Teach me to always pray for my Pastor. I realize that the enemy desires to sift him/her as wheat, but I rebuke the works of the enemy now. I ask you to bless my Pastor and his/her family. I pray that you would give them the continued strength and wisdom to lead your people. I ask that you would continue to feed him/her so that he/she can continue to feed us. I rebuke any hindering spirit that would cause my Pastor to fall and stumble. I ask you Lord to open our eyes as the members of this establishment to be able to see the flies and shoo them away from your anointed. In Jesus’ name Amen.
