    January 24, 2012Travel Itinerary: OttawaFebruary 25-26, 2012

    Leg 1:Saturday, February 25, 2012.

    Depart From: Double Rinks at 8:00 am sharpOntario Northlands BusArrive: 12:45 pm at Days Inn, 319 Rideau St, Ottawa, ON, Tel: (613) 789-5555Notes:

    If youre leaving a vehicle at Palangio, make sure you see Dave before by February18th to sign the parking permission form.

    We hope to leave your hockey gear on the bus overnight, so, if you plan on skatingon the Rideau Canal, please take your skates and helmet separately.

    Well likely stop for a quick break at Timmys in Deep River (15 minutes). Your room will be paid for by the team and is listed under the player name.

    Extras, including vehicle parking will be your responsibility.

    In terms of spending money, we suggest you bring at least $50 per person. It is your responsibility to request a cot if required (likely an extra charge). There is neither breakfast provided nor a pool at the hotel. Lunch is your responsibility, so either bring it with you on the bus or buy something

    near the hotel. If you want to skate, plan on being back on the bus by 2 pm.

    Please use the garbage bags to help keep the bus clean.

    Leg 2:Saturday, February 25, 2012

    Depart From: Days Inn at 2:00 for the Rideau Canal Skate from Fifth Ave. (N of Bank)

    ***If the ice conditions are poor, we will do a bus tour of downtown Ottawa/Hull.Arrive: 4:00 pm from Fifth Avenue by bus to the Days Inn.Notes:

    The skating distance is about 6 km (downtown & back) and there are washroomsand snack facilities along the canal. On average the skate time is 60-90 min.

    Helmets are recommended and no sticks are allowed. Pedestrians can walk on thesidewalks beside the canal.

    If you want a bus ride back to the hotel, be back at the bus (Fifth Ave.) by 4 pm.Leg 3: Saturday, February 25, 2012

    Depart From: Days Inn at 5:30 pm sharp for Scotiabank Place (game starts at 7 pm)

    Arrive: Days Inn around 10:30 pm.

    Notes:

    NHL Tickets will be handed out when we board the bus (check with Dave if youreunsure if youre on the list). You pay for your own for dinner or snacks at the arena.The seats are quite high in the arena and in a non alcohol area. As soon as the gameis over proceed immediately to the bus. We will investigate the possibility of usingstanding room for extra passengers.

    Leg 4: Sunday,February 26, 2012

    Depart From: Days Inn at 8:15 sharp.

    Arrive: The Bell Sensplex at 9:00 which is located at 1565 Maple Grove Road, Kanata

    Notes: Team B will play from 10-11 am, Team A from 11-noon As soon as the final game is over, board the bus with all your gear and well join the

    Ottawa teams for a local Chinese buffet lunch (paid by the team).

    Leg 5: Sunday, February 26, 2012

    Depart From: Kanata Chinese Restaurant around 3 pm.

    Arrive: Pete Palangio Arena around 7:30 pm

    Notes:

    We might stop somewhere along the route depending on everyones wishes. Well be passing the hat on the way home to tip the driver. Again, please use the garbage bags to help keep the bus clean.

    General:

    There are at least 20 eateries within two city blocks of the hotel including DonCherrys, MacDonalds, Cafs & Bakeries, Pizza, Chinese, Bistros and Sushi. Of

    course there are also many really nice restaurants located in the Byward Marketarea (for much more $$). There is also a new restaurant located in the Days Inncalled Everafters where breakfast can be purchased for under $10.

    Youll likely have to carry your shoes while skating on the canal so you may wish tobring a knapsack or bag.
