Robinson & Center CHURCH OF CHRIST MONTHLY NEWSLETTER January 2016 Periodical Postage PAID Conway, AR 72034 R&C Monthly Newsletter (USPS-083-030) published monthly by Robinson & Center Church of Christ 1505 Robinson Avenue Conway, AR 72034 POSTMASTER: Send address changes to Robinson & Center Church of Christ 1505 Robinson Avenue, Conway, AR 72034 Issue Number: 1-16 Issue Date: December 31, 2015 Shepherd’s V oice By Michael Ledbetter Those Serving in January PRAYER FOR 2016 As I look forward to 2016, I am thankful for this church family and the focus from so many to reflect Christ to our neighbors. 2016 is certainly a landmark year for Robinson and Center as we will begin worship services in our new auditorium. Generations from now will reflect on our local congregational history and see this as a significant investment and commitment, but our focus for 2016 is so much more than bricks and mortar. It’s the other commit- ments that will make our building investment produce fruit for His kingdom. As we begin 2016, I pray that we keep and grow our focus on reaching out to others, that we always take care of those in our family and that we strive to bring others into our church family to enjoy the rewards of the gospel. I pray that those leading the efforts to reach others continue to do so with more help, that those with the courage to start a new effort are blessed for that courage, blessed for having the idea and blessed for moving beyond idea to action. I pray that others who are looking for a place to serve will take the courage to step out, join one of these efforts and be blessed each step of the way. I pray that as our family looks for ways to serve, we also accept the need that we have to be served. That we will learn every day to better realize our shortcomings, to know that we are not complete on our own alone, that we each need encouragement, love, sup- port, prayers, a listening ear and sometimes just a hug, and that we allow others to serve us as they look for ways to serve Him. I pray that God bless each member, deacon, minister and teacher, that each effort and program underway is a benefit to His king- dom and that we all will work in a way to fully utilize the invest- ments we are making to secure a long term presence in Conway, to be known as a place that is and will always be known as a loving church family worshipping God and teaching His Word. I hope you join me in praying for these things and much more! Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. This past year we used the phrase “Adopt 2015” to remind us to find ways to “adopt” our own neighborhood as our first place to show the love of Jesus and serve others. Several out - reach projects have been developed over the past eighteen months that offer a plaorm to carry out this pledge. We sll need more projects, more outlets into our neighbor- hood, to show people we care about their needs and their souls. I’m sure that several of you have ideas that simply need to be developed and presented. May we always be looking for ways to serve our neighborhood. “Share 2016, One Gospel - Our Neighborhood” will remind us of our commitment as a church to share God’s love with the people of our own local community--our neighbors!
