Message from the Principal

EDUCATION WEEK

Education week is an annual celebration of New South Wales public education and the achievements of local schools and students. This year, education week will run from Monday, 3 August to Friday, 7 August and the theme is “learning together”. The theme of learning together has never been more important than in its current environment. Already this year we have been in strong partnerships with families to deliver education both at school and at home.

Although this year we may not be able to do some of the usual education experiences or celebrations, we still would like to thank our community for supporting the work we do each and every day.

YEAR 6 SHIRTS

We are excited to announce that we have taken delivery of the 2020 Year 6 shirts. They look incredible and our Year 6 teachers have done an amazing job of designing the shirts with our students. It is nice to be able to do something for the Year 6 students in their final year of primary school.

FATHER’S DAY GOLF TOURNAMENT

I am incredibly excited to announce that at this stage the Shell Cove Public School Father’s Day Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, 4 September 2020.

All tickets will be available through Flexi schools from Monday, 10 August 2020.

KISS AND DROP

With restrictions to parents being on site, we have noticed an increase in the traffic in the afternoon at kiss and drop. I thank the majority of parents for their patience and remind you to continue to follow road rules.

Please make sure you drive all the way to the front of Kiss and Drop for getting your children to enter or exit the car. To help ease congestion it be amazing if parents could make sure children can quickly get into the car and put on their own seatbelt. We are all in this together!

P&C NEWS

The P&C would like to advise that due to the uncertainty surrounding the current Covid-19 situation, we will be unable to hold the Father’s Day Stall this year. We have come to this decision with the wellbeing of the members of our school community in mind. We would like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all our dads and male carers and look forward to resuming our Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls when it is safe to do so. We would also like to invite our fathers to our Golf Day fundraiser on Friday, 4 September 2020.

Simon Webb Principal

We would like to take this opportunity to remind our parents and carers that, during this difficult time, if you child is feeling unwell or has cold/flu

symptoms they should remain at home until they are feeling well.
