Message from the Principal

Welcome back to Term 3!

I hope you were able to enjoy some wonderful time with family and/or friends.

COVID-19

With the matter of COVID-19 ever present, it is important to know that all students should be learning on-campus unless they are unwell or have a medical certificate to support their absence.

All students and staff who have visited Victoria are required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been in Victoria and is unwell or has flu-like symptoms arrange to be tested through their local medical practitioner or one of the COVID-19 clinics.

Schools continue to be safe and operations are in line with the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and NSW Health advice. Under this advice, schools are not required to conduct widespread temperature screening or for anyone to wear masks.

Our school will be vigilant when implementing infection control, physical distancing and personal hygiene protocols to protect the health and safety of students and staff. We will promote the need to follow good hygiene practices like:

• regularly washing hands;

• avoiding sharing drinks or food;

• coughing or sneezing into your elbow, or a tissue which should be discarded immediately; and

• filling water bottles from taps rather than using the bubbler directly.

The school will continue the dismissal procedures that were in place at the end of last term. This means that families will arrange with their child/ren the appropriate gate to meet each afternoon. We encourage all adults to practise physical distancing in these locations.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

A huge thank you to the uniform committee who have finalised the new school uniform. They look amazing and most importantly will wash and wear easily! The committee have arranged for the following transition timeline to be implemented across the school. The school understands and are supportive of the time needed to make this transition and as a result we are encouraging the following:

2020: New uniforms available to be ordered from Brandworx Term 4 2020. Students can then wear the new uniform from this time, however, it is anticipated the majority of students will continue with the current uniform.

2021: Transition from current to new uniform. Parents are encouraged to make the change to the new uniform in a time that suits their child's developing needs. It is anticipated that there will be a combination of current and new uniforms throughout this year.

2022: All students to wear the new school uniform.

The school have also made allowances for older students who may wish to continue in the current uniform for 2021. As a result, the school will sell excess stock at a reduced price for 2021.

Sentral for Parents App

Sentral have notified us their new App has been released and is now ready for downloading.

You can either update your existing version of the App or uninstall the current App and install the App from scratch.

We are currently working with Sentral to see if we can manipulate the home screen to include individual student buttons. At this stage, if you select ‘Resources’ you can find your child/ren in the left-hand side menu (like in the Parent Portal).
