the toilets out of this world.
3. Bar Rouge Stunning views of the Bund from the Digital Garden patio have helped make this the city's most
famous bar. Bartenders set the bar on fireliterallyevery night, mixing up an assortment of
high-end cocktails against a soundtrack of minimal techno and deep house. The tunes last until
late and the crowd often parties until the sun comes up.
4. House ofBlues and Jazz A beautiful wooden bar serves up pints of Guinness, Kilkenney and Tiger to a mixed, slightly
older crowd waiting to enjoy the bar's high-quality rotating live acts. With a little rock and funk
fused into the jazz, the acts easily establish a good rapport with an appreciative, relaxed crowd.

The party spot in Shanghai. A hip and stylish night club, perched on the 24th floor high above
Shanghai, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular 360 degree views. The
first thing you notice upon arriving at M1NT Club is the jaw-dropping 17-metre long shark tank,
complete with more than 20 black and white reef-tip sharks. The design is cool and chic, a bold
mix of East and West.
10.Cloud 9 The world's tallest hotel, the ultra-modern Grand Hyatt, also happens to house Shanghai's
chicest bars. There's the sleek and intimate Piano Bar on the 53rd floor, and the spectacular
Patio Bar on the 56th floor, but nothing compares to the appropriately named Cloud 9, up
amongst the cumulonimbus of the 87th floor - the highest bar in the world. See the city below in
its 360 degree splendour, a popular vantage point it seems for romancing Chinese couples who
have the cash. Westerners tend to take their tall drinks up to the Sky Lounge one floor up where
you can sit on the deck and gaze out on the curve of the earth.

21.Not Me This is a hip, futuristic lounge that mixes a young, cool crowd with fantastic music. Just off
Hengshan Lu, a favorite expat drinking district, it outshines all of the grotty talking-girl bars that
surround it with a combination of very cheap drinks, a nice little garden and always-excellent
electroclash, indie, punk and dance music.
22.Bohemia Caf & Bar An array of well-executed Western dishes and desserts, a decent selection of wine and beer and
choice location on a historic street[Taikang Lu] make this cozy caf and bar a top spot to sprawl
out and escape into Old Shanghai.

25.MuralBar All-you-can-drink nights, a rotating circuit of DJs, live music and its unique, cave-like interior
make this underground bar well-known among young expats. Although service can be slow and
the quality of the cocktails can be patchy, the price is worth the wait.
26.Abbey Road This inviting establishment provides an oasis for after work drinks and a bite to eat. The interior
is simple yet sophisticated, with white walls contrasted with dark wooden beams, an airy patio,
and tribute posters to The Beatles.
A mix of bar food and hearty meals satisfies, as do cool poursof draft beer and reasonably mixed cocktails

29.Kiitos This tiny, dimly lit Shanghai secret is perfect for impressing a date, hiding away from the world
or pretending you're a Tokyo mobster. A long bar expertly mixes impressive cocktails from a
thick menu while you prop yourself up on a stool or sink into one of the comfy sofas in the back.
This bar isn't looking to be the new Saturday night spot, but a cozy location offering Shanghai's
growing number of cocktail connoisseursexcatly what they're looking for. Maiko, the bar owner
who used to run the bar at Le Garcon Chinoise, knows what she's doing and ensuring all details

31.Eager BeaverBoasting one of the city's largest collections of bottled beers and a good foosball table, this bar
is known to get rowdy in the early hours of the morning as people dance on top of the bar to
'80s classics, rock or reggae that frequently play over the system at this divey bar. Good bar fare
at reasonable prices attracts a budget-minded young crowd.
32.FullHouseA very typical dive bar in Hengshanlu with nothing much to write about..

34.Yong Foo Elite Housed in the elegant 1930s villa that used to house the British consulate, YongFoo Elite is one
of Shanghais most exclusive spots. Located in the old French Concession, the rambling building
abounds with Buddhist statues, antique Chinese furniture and green leather sofas . The garden is
a divine spot to sip a G&T, reclining under magnolia trees with the stars glinting above . The
restaurant serves up decent Euro-Asian cuisine, but the food was always going to come second
to the atmosphere here.
Order a cocktail and take a wander onto one of two gorgeousverandahs. A members bar, it has an exclusive air, with guests required to sign in at the foot if a
long driveway.

41.Velvet Lounge The former Casanova restaurant is now a stylish lounge, abounding with plush velvet sofas and
crystal chandeliers. Its an elegant, decadent space with real hipster appeal, one of the best on
Julu Lu. The dcor is warm, lots of dark, inviting reds, the crowd cool, but not annoyingly so.
International DJs do their thing on Friday and Saturday nights, playing house music mainly, and
the place duly gets packed out until the small hours of the morning. Cocktails pack a punch andare pretty reasonably priced by Shanghai standards.
42.People 7 This chic restaurant and bar is so minimalist that first-timers have a hard time finding the
entrance. Once you've figured out the puzzle of a main door, relax in the stone-grey interior and
comfortable couches. Be warned, leave some extra time to figure out how to get into the
bathroom.
