Mazel Tov to our Bat Mitzvah, Maddie Reese Sweeden, daughter of Tricia and Chad Sweeden, sister of Sydney and Hanna, granddaughter of Barbara and Sam Sakowitz and Linda and Steven Houts. Maddie is a 7th grade student at Pershing Middle School, where she is eagerly anticipating the Spring Semester and the opportunity to play lacrosse. Maddie is an avid gamer

and loves anime. Due to Covid restrictions, Maddie did not have an opportunity to start her Mitzvah Project and has committed to completing it as soon as restrictions are lifted. She plans to participate in the Rabbi’s Ten Percent plan by donating a percentage of her monetary gifts to the Houston Alzheimer’s Association in honor of her zayde, Sam Sakowitz.
