BUSINESS SITUATION WRITING COMPETITION
(Sept 02, 2016)
GNIMS Library organized a Business Situation
Writing Competition on September 2, 2016 in
the Library Premises. 18 students
participated in this competition form MMS /
PGDM 1st year and 2nd year Students took
part, as well as part time student.
The parameters for judging the competitions
were given to the students and they had to
write around 500 words on any one topic
from the six topics given to them. The topics
were given to them on the spot.
CONGRATULATIONS
The first Winner of the Business Situation Writing Competition was Ms.
Maheswari Nadar from MMS - B, Semester III, Batch 2015-2017 and
the second winner was Ms. Nayomi H. Mehta from PGDM, Batch 2016-
2018. Heartiest Congratulations from to both of them.
All the participants were awarded participation Certificate.

Management Teachers
CONGRATULATIONS

Teachers Day Celebration .
(September 5 2016)
GNIMS students organized a Teacher’s Day Celebration for our faculty
members, on September 2, 2016. This event was organized in Room No.
202 from 09.30 noon till 10.30 pm. The students sang songs and
felicitated all the faculty members with a memento.
CDC Initiative .
(September 3 2016)
A CDC initiative – 7th Session of the Series was based on Creativity &
Problem Solving – The speaker for the session was Dr. Satvinder Singh
Madhok - an Australian Citizen working for JP Morgan Chase Technology
operations in Mumbai, India. He is an Asiapac Executive Director for
Chase Cards, Merchant and Auto (CMA) Technology leading all
Infrastructure, Application Support Operations, Technology Risk
remediation, Audit compliance, SOX compliance and Infrastructure
projects for all CMA Infrastructure and Application Support for Asiapac
region.
The session highlighted through the case study – “The Dessert Exercise”
the management graduates were made aware of the techniques,
strategies and various steps involved in Creative Problem Solving.

Internal Audit
Internal Audit was conducted on August 31, and September 2, 3 and 6,
2016 for all the departments. This was conducted by Dr. Vidya
Hattangadi, Ms. Gurjeet Multani, Ms. Kuljeet G. Kahlon and Mr. Sameer
Salunkhe.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP VIVAS
Vivas were conducted on September 3, 2016 for our 2nd year students
who had completed their Summer Internship during the month of May
and June 2016.
ProQuest Training Programme
A training programme was organized by the Library for the 1st year full
time Students (MMS) 0n September 7, 2016 from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Mr. Vikram from ProQuest, gave detailed explanations on how to use the
online database from basic search to advanced search and other features
of ProQuest. Mr. Prasad Bhattacharya from MMS B (2016-2018) gave the
vote of thanks.

GUEST LECTURE ON TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS AND
PATH FORWARD – INDUSTRY INSIGHTS
On September 10, 2016, Ms. Kavitha Alva (Behavioral Consultant and a
Strengths Coach) addressed Second Year MMS Semester III HR & PGDM
Trimester IV HR students on ‘Training Needs Analysis and Path Forward
– Industry Insights’. Students learnt about “Mind mapping” - TNA the
Industry way. Live cases discussed by facilitator was well appreciated by
the students.
CEO SERIES .
(September 17 2016)
CDC organized the III CEO Series on September 17, 2016, in the Seminar
Hall. This interaction with Mr. Sanjay Mehta, Joint CEO, Mirum India, was
very informative and interactive for the second year students.

EMBA LIBRARY ORIENTATION .
(September 17 2016)
Library Orientation for the EMBA students Batch 11 (2016-2018) was
given by Ms. Neeta Malik on September 18, 2016 in Room No. 102. They
were also given the tour of the library after the orientation.
PGDM – ProQuest training .
(September 19 2016)
ProQuest Training for the PGDM batch 2016-2018 was conducted on
September 19, 2016 from 4.30 to 5.30 pm in the Computer Lab. Mr.
Sanjay Rajan, Training and Consultant Partner Asia Pacific, ProQuest
conducted this training session. Ms. Kuljeet G. Kahlon, Library Manager
gave the Vote of thanks.
SOCIAL INTERNSHIP @ GNIMS: .
(September 20 2016)
GNIMS started a unique program “Samvedna” (Community Outreach and
Development Internship) with PGDM (2015-17). Students went out and
worked for social causes like women empowerment, child welfare, animal
welfare, environment protection and many more. The Internship is an
integral part of their course and it concluded with their evaluations on
September 20, 2016. Dr. Narayan Iyer (CEO & National Co-coordinator,
Indian Development Foundation) evaluated the work done by students.
IDF has an excellent track record of over three decades of humanitarian
service to the nation. Students shared their field experiences and
learnings. This initiative aroused the sensitivity in students and many
students are still continuing the good work started through the Social
Internship. Dr. Iyer also shared some thoughts on Social Internship with
the current PGDM (2016-2018) Batch.

BOOK EXHIBITION .

GNIMS Library organized the book exhibition on Thursday, September 22,
2016. All the faculties as well as students were requested to recommend
books for the library. Lots of students visited the library and
recommended books for the library.

FIRST OPEN INTER COLLEGIATE CHESS TOURNAMENT .
(September 22-24, 2016)
PGPSM (Sports Management) organized the first open inter collegiate
chess tournament from September 22-24, 2016. There was an enormous
response from different colleges for this event. The event got coverage in
the print media also.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT: .
(September 24-30, 2016)
PGDM and MMS students (2015 – 2017) went on the Industrial Visit to
Bangalore/Mysore/Coorg from September 24, 2016 till September 30,
2016. They visited various Industries to gain the working knowledge
about the various departments.
Book Exhibition - B. M. N. College of Home SciencE .
(September 38, 2016)
Ms. Kuljeet G. Kahlon, our Library Manager was invited as the chief guest
to inaugurate the two days Book Exhibition on September 28, 2016 at
10.30 am at the Sewa Mandal’s Education Society’s B. M. N. College of
Home Science.
She also addressed the first year students on “Reading and Reading
Skills”.
