To decide which size mat you want, measure the width of your sewing machine and add 6- 8“. This will provide room on the right for a thread catcher. ThreadCatcher:STEP1:Takea8x13”pieceofquiltedfabric.Sewshortsidestogetherandsewbottom,witha¼”seam.Foldbottomcornersandmark1½”fromcorner(seepicture).Sewbothcornersalongmarkedline.Trimtrianglecorner.STEP2:Lining:Cuta10”x13”pieceofcontrastingfabric.Sewsidesandbottomwithawide¼”seam.(Thismakestheliningatinybitsmallerthanthemainbody&itwillfitbetter.MarkandsewbottomcornersasinStep1.STEP3:Loop:Cutan8”x2”pieceoffabric.Pressandsewinthesamemannerasthezippertie.STEP4:Pressliningtop2”down.Foldinhalf,pressagain.Thiswillgiveyouthe“cuff”forthetopofthethreadcatcher.STEP5:Placeliningintomainthreadcatcher,withwrongsidestogether,liningupthetrianglesections.Fold“cuff”overthetop.Tuckbothendsoftheloopunderthecuffandfoldup.Topstitchcuffinplace.STEP6:Sewlargebuttonapproximately2”abovemiddleofrightpocket.
