Setup Your eMail ListsAutoResponder and Broadcasts

With an eMail list you can do 2 thing:1. Send out automated followups (AutoResponders) when someone joins the list.2. Send out a Broadcast eMail to everyone on the list, regardless of where they are in

the followup sequence. This eMail will go out at the date and time that you specifyStart by clicking “Auto Responder” under the “Email” menu.

When you create a new Auto Responder List fill out the following:1. Name – This is an internal name that your client will not see, you can only use letter

and numbers – no spaces.2. Description – This is the Name that your client would see if they unsubscribe from

your list.Continue on next page

3. Double Opt In – the default is to set the as a double opt in list, you may click the “edit”button to customize the double opt in email (more on this in a few pages)

4. From Name – This is the name you will send from for all emails sent to this list.5. From Email – This is the email address you will send from for all emails sent to this

list.

6. Immediate 1st – This applies to only the first email in a followup if the delay is set to 0 days. If checked this will send this email immediately rather than wait until later in the day.

7. System Point – For most opt-in list you will leave this set as “Standard.” Another lesson will go over all the other system points and how to use them.

If you use a Double Opt In this is the email you can “edit” or customize.1. Enter your subject line for the email.2. Enter the URL where you want your new subscribers to go when they confirm their

optin.3. You may enter any text you want in the Text Template - use must have the variable ${optin} in the email – this will become the link that they click.

After you Save the AutoResponder the panels below will become active.1. FollowUp – Automated emails that will email in sequence when someone subscribes

to the list.2. Broadcast – Here you schedule when a specific email is sent out.3. Removal – Here you select any lists that you want a contact to be automatically

unsubscribed from when the join this list.4. Property – Here you can add a BCC or CC to get a copy of the emails as they go to

each contact.

When you add a new followup it will automatically be put onto the end of the list.1. Enter the subject that you want to appear in the email.2. Enter in days how long from the previous followup you want to send this email.3. Enter the text that you want in the email (either text or html). Remember to include

your name and a valid physical address to comply with the CAN-SPAM laws. An unsubscribe link will automatically be put on the end of the email.

After you save each followup they will appear in the list.You may click on the “test” button to email it to you to test how it looks.Once you have the email exactly as you want it click on the “Activate” button to turn it live

for your subscribers. (You can still change it after you activate it)

When you click add next to Broadcast you can create an email and schedule a specific date and time to send it.

1. Enter the Subject you want on the email2. Select the date you want the email sent and adjust the time if you want.3. Enter the text or html you want emailed out. (Remember the CAN-SPAM laws and

enter a valid name and address)

You can also “test” the broadcast before you schedule it to send.

Once you have it ready click “Finalize” to schedule the broadcast.

Since this is the Silver level we setup a “Removal” from the Bronze level membership. This will automatically remove anyone who joins Silver from the Bronze list.

We also setup a BCC so that info@sfsmail.com will get a copy of each email as it goes to the subscriber.

That is how you setup a new Email list.

You can setup as many followup emails which will be sent automatically when someone subscribes to the email list.

You can also schedule for an email to be sent to everyone subscribed to a list on a given date and time. This will be sent to everyone who is on the list regardless of where they are in the followup sequence – including if they have finished all the emails in your followup sequence.
