e 4Spring/Summer Coaching Staff Addendum:Varsity Track & Field: Returning coaches Megan Endreson (head coach) and assistant coaches Jeremy Nelson and Kurt Motschenbacher. (Sorry, we missed Kurt in the previous announcements!)

Incredible Donations for PCS AthleticsOver the past 4 months, the Essentia trainer, Allison Kucera, PCS Strength and Conditioning Coach, Kurt Motschenbacher, and PCS Activities Director, Tyler Tracy have worked with private donors and the newly formed PCS Athletic Booster club raising funds, that have been matched by Essentia Health, to provide for updating of the PCS training room with new equipment, tables, desk, and storage cabinets. The high tech Ultrasound machine is already in use and is critical to student athlete recovery from injury. The new training table (shown below) is on order. Note: We are incredibly fortunate to have Allison Kucera, Athletic Trainer, on staff, at no cost to PCS, thanks to Essentia Health. Additionally, the Parent Association funds raised at the Auctions April 9th will go to purchase a drop down curtain for gym. This curtain will greatly enhance the usage of our gym for Phy Ed classes, indoor recess, and tournaments. Thank you Parent Association and Auction Committee!

New Strength and Conditioning ProgramMr. Motschenbacher is heading up a fundraising effort for an online strength and conditioning program for our students from Volt Athletics. A PCS grandparent has generously offered a matching donation up to $5,000 for this program. The new Volt V2 Platform serves as a centralized training hub for all coaches, our athletic trainer, and athletes, providing immediate access to a suite of sport specific training resources including individualized workouts, step-by-step instructions, technique videos, and an advanced tracking system. The Volt Platform is currently in use and the funds in part will be used to maintain the program and help with additional technology upgrades, including a large screen TV, tablet access for athletes to the online platform to view and record their workouts, and additional equipment to better train our athletes.

Summer in the Weight RoomThe weight room will be fully supervised this summer from 8:00 am -12:00 noon 4-5 days a week. V programs will include injury prevention exercises, a SAQ (Speed, Agility, and Quickness) program, a sport specific strength program, and a conditioning program. The JH program will include speed, agility, and strength programs and will be designed based on their level of experience. Approximate cost will be $100 for the summer 8-week program. Mr. Motschenbacher will be at PCS all summer to run the program. Watch for sign-ups this spring.

PCS Olive Garden Night - 4/12A second PCS Olive Garden night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 12th. From 4:00 - 10:00 pm, 10% of ALL proceeds (from everyone in the restaurant!) will be given to PCS Athletics, up to $1000!! Let’s make $1,000 for PCS Athletics! As a result of great PCS support at the October Olive Garden night, PCS received $800. Make it a family night! See you at Olive Garden Tuesday, April 12th!

We are proud of PCS 2014 Alums Matt Moberg and Hunter Nickel. Hunter plays for NDSCS, Wahpeton, mens’ basketball team. The team won the Region XIII championship and the District 11 championship, earning a berth in the National Junior College Division 1 mens’ tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. They won their first game, making school history. Congratulations Hunter and team!

Matt is part of the NDSU Men’s Track and Field team. He placed 7th in the mens’ Heptathlon at the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championship, and the NDSU team took 1st place overall!! Congratulations Matt and team!

THE PCS IMPACT Stories of Spiritual Influence Since 1981

by Kent S. Hannestad

Visit us at www.ParkChristianSchool.org218-236-0500

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. This hymn was written by Helen Howarth Lemmel and first published in 1918. Perhaps this will encourage you like it encouraged me.

O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There’slightforalookattheSavior, andlifemoreabundantandfree. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. Through death into life everlasting He passed, and we follow Him there; O’erussinnomorehathdominionformorethanconqu’orsweare! His Word shall not fail you, He promised; Believe Him and all will be well; Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!

The writer of Hebrews says it this way, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2.May God grant us all the ability and desire to turn and fix our eyes on Jesus. That’s my perspective.

An e-mail received from PCS parent, Matt Endreson“I had the privileged of participating in your chapel and I left feeling so filled with the Spirit and love. I am so proud that this school is where my children will call home for the most influential years of their life. To look out and see the students engage in such a worshipful and heartfelt way, it really took my breath away. The mission to empower these children with the education that you do, and to take time out of your day to hold a chapel of that magnitude, wow. Hats off to your whole staff. Thank you for providing such a great place for my wife to work as well. You each have chosen a great mission in your life, and I as a parent and husband, am indebted and so thankful for what Kaycee, and soon to be Tenley will receive there. Keep up the great work! You are doing Godly service in our community. Thank you for allowing us to spend some time with your students.”

An e-mail received from PCS mom, Jackie Schmidt “This is why we love PCS and our awesome Coach Jess!!” (Coach Jessica Nellermoe, PCS class of 2012)

An e-mail received from a PCS mom the day after Spiritual Emphasis Day “Thank you for Spiritual Emphasis day yesterday. When I dropped our daughter off at school today I asked her how I could pray for her. She said to pray the spiritual mountain top that she is on from yesterday‘s activities won’t leave her. God showed up yesterday. Thank you Jesus!”
