Programs: Read with MCFL is our adult literacy program. This is our 30th year offering adult literacy services. We are a learner-centered, confidential, free program, and rely on our corps of volunteers to provide services. MCFL has 17 branches, and we host tutoring at 6 of them. Currently, we have 110 volunteer tutors working with 116 adults (some tutors help more than one person). We are always recruiting volunteers, as we have over 75 adults waiting for a tutor. We also provide Speak Up! Conversation Groups in many of our larger branches. The Groups meet one hour a week, and are facilitated by a volunteer. As you probably know, many English language learners in our county have no one to practice their English with. This is a chance to take their English skills out for a spin in a supportive environment. Some branches also provide computer skills training and citizenship preparation. MCFL is always seeking volunteers to tutor adults in English or lead English conversation groups!
