Dear StudentsThe session 2016-17 opens with a very comprehensive and coordinated approach to learning and conducive environment for learning. School life teaches us ‘way of life’ and this journey is guided by teachers, parents & mentors. We need to foster a fair, inclusive and dynamic school culture. The school culture is built when all students learn to discipline themselves and keep all etiquettes in place. Right from donning uniform in the morning to boarding the bus on time, to attending classes, to peer time at break, to interaction with one another, should reflect discipline and right code of conduct. • Discipline: Discipline is key to success and optimum growth .Remember discipline sharpens your personality. Our school shall deal with indiscipline cases firmly with issue of yellow cards/red cards by ‘Discipline Committee’. Any form of violence (mental or physical), racial comments, Public Display of Affection(PDA)& stealing, breakage of school property, misbehavior with school staff, buying-selling in school campus or within peer group, possession of forbidden articles, use of abusive language shall result in disciplinary action. Any breakage of school property has to be compensated with double its amount.• Cyber Etiquettes: The students are expected to follow cyber etiquettes. Any kind of ‘cyber bullying’, derogatory comments on fellow students, parents, teachers or school, posted on social networking sites will be viewed as serious offence and may lead to disciplinary action from the school. Students must follow all the guidelines to use the social networking sites.• Uniform: The students shall be allowed to board the bus only if they are in complete uniform. • Transport: Any indisciplinary case in the bus may result in the withdrawal of ‘Bus Facility’• Bunking: of classes may result in student being sent back home and given ‘5 absent’ attendance which may affect their promotion to next class. We believe that under the right conditions, our students can achieve extraordinary things. We provide the best and expect our students to follow the rules and regulations. Kindly create a sense of belonging and involvement- belong to the school and involve in all the right activities during your schooling. In 2015, the school has introduced lots of measures to foster a fair, inclusive and dynamic school culture. Lots of exchange programs with schools in countries like Korea, Japan, France etc. have been organized. The senior students shall have an opportunity to spend in summer colleges for few weeks in Universities like Cambridge, Oxford etc. We have in house counselor to guide students in their university application. I trust that the year 2017-18 will truly be one of fresh visions and mighty break through as we work together as a family to soar to greater heights.

PERFORMING ARTS

Our school exposes our students to various forms of performing Arts .Without the existence of a performing arts program, students would have to venture outside of their everyday routine and this would make the probability of them discovering an appreciation of arts more unlikely than if they attended a regular performing arts program in school. The performing Arts faculty offers exposure in Indian vocal, western vocal, Indian instrumental music, Indian classical dance, arts and craft. Students of our school are held to a very high standard of performance. Performing Art program provides a medium for self expression. The evolution of performing arts has allowed for positive self expression as it promotes a positive way to relieve angst, displaced anger, stress. The western and Indian music club boasts of wide range of instrumental and vocal music opportunities. Students get their degree in music in music from Prachin Kala Kendra along with their academic pursuits.

The Careers FACULTY—BEYOND SCHOOL "Beyond School," The initiative taken up by DPS, Sonepat to provide counseling to our students with regards to higher studies has been making great strides in this area. The aim of this programme is to provide information to the students regarding the various options that are available to them both in India and abroad. Students are helped in deciding their career choice keeping in mind their interests and aptitude For admission to certain courses, entrance exams and other proficiency tests need to be cleared. Information is provided to the students about the exams that need to be cleared to secure admission in various colleges and universities. Essays and Letters of Recommendation play a vital role in securing admission in foreign universities, hence all help is provided to students in essay writing and to provide them with LORs. Another very important step that has been taken is the partnership with " Univariety, which specializes in the field of university planning and higher education counseling for multiple destination countries. Univariety is part of a Singapore based 'International Education Gateway'. Their international team comes with over a decade of experience in providing personalized guidance about which countries, colleges and courses to target for within India and abroad. Students and parents can interact with the Univariety team of experts continuously through an online system linked to the school website. This well-structured program aims to guide the student and parent starting in class 11th till the end of class 12th.Students can send emails and get their queries answered within two hours by experts .Univariety organizes webinars on a regular basis to give information to students regarding various career related topics. Students from our school regularly visit education fairs organized by Foreign Universities. Link on 'Beyond School' on our website provide regular updates to the students. When we think of higher studies especially abroad we tend to worry about the cost involved. But there are several scholarships that are available to eligible students which due to paucity of information they are not able to utilize.Beyond School" provides information to students about these scholarships and help is also provided in filling out online applications and forms. In the recent past students have been apprised with the MEXT scholarships offered by the Government of Japan. Recently the scholarships provided by RITSUHEIKAN UNIVERSITY JAPAN were introduced to our students.. Special ties with universities in UK, Canada, Japan & Australia have been established to facilitate the admission process. We not only want to ensure that our students pass their Class XII boards with flying colors but we also want to make sure that they choose the correct course for their higher studies and hence make a successful career later on in their lives. Over the past few years higher education has undergone a sea change. Students today have a wide variety of courses to choose from and they are no longer restricted to the geographical boundaries of their own country to pursue higher education. They have the opportunity to go to any country of the world to pursue the course of their choice.
