KEN BEN JAMIN — MANAGERThe Avcos have a new look this year with colourful Ken Benjamin taking over as Manager. An Intercounty veteran, Ken was born in Chatham some 40 years ago but after spending two seasons playing professionally in the Washington chain settled in Listowel. He played from 1954 to 1961 and then managed the Legionnaires from 1964 to 1969, always with hustling entertaining teams. Ken was chosen all-star manager in 1966, 1968 and 1969 as well as being selected to manage the ICBA All-Stars that won the first Canada Games championship in 1969.When Brantford returned to the league in 1971 Ken was a natural choice to lead them. The Sox tied for the last playoff spot in 1971 but were eliminated in a sudden-death playoff. Last year, they ended third before losing to Toronto in the seventh game of an exciting final. An innovator, umpire-baiter and a colour guy — Ken brings all this plus a sound knowledge of the game to London. It’s good to have him on our side.

JIM RODRIGUES: Infielder: Teaching job restricts early season play. Batted .326 in 15 games, half for extra bases. Excellent glove man.

BARRY FULLER: Outfielder-Catcher: Only his second year as an “official” senior. Batted .255 with 18 RBI’s. Played well as a “rookie” outfielder.

NEIL BRADBURY:Pitcher: Sore arm plagued him last year. Still won three big games. Will be spot starter this year which could increase effectiveness.

LARRY ROOKS:Infielder: Played last year with Brantford, leading the Sox in hitting with .321 average. Standout in playoff with Toronto. Good glove.

ED JORDAN:Outfielder: Comes here by way of Guelph and Toronto. Fine hitter. Been hitting for distance in practise. School teacher.
